The Most Wonderful Time of the Year is starting TODAY at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
While the park is getting ready for the debut of Sunset Season’s Greetings and the return of the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Holiday Nighttime Spectacular to make up a Flurry of Fun starting Thursday, November 9th, the seasonal sweets and treats are available in the park NOW!
So join us for some pre-Flurry Food Fun as we go all over Hollywood Studios for some SEASON’S EATINGS!!
We’re starting our yuletide tour with…
Christmas Tree Whoopie Pies
Would you just take a look at THIS?
HOW CUTE is the Christmas Tree Red Velvet Holiday Whoopie Pie at Sweet Spells and Fairfax Fare?
The tradition in the Red Velvet Holiday Whoopie Pie is more a nod to the season’s traditions, as opposed to the shape of a traditional Whoopie Pie. For that reason, the emphasis is on the red velvet cake over the cream (though you’ll find some tucked into the layers!). But the generous dusting of sugar snow, icing garland, and sprinkle ornaments provide that extra sweetness that would typically come from the cream.
So it’s as yummy as it is downright adorable!
Popcorn with Pluto
Speaking of ADORABLE…
Oh. My. GOODNESS! I don’t even collect Popcorn Buckets, but this Holiday Pluto Popcorn Bucket might be the one that breaks my resolve!
I can only imagine what you collectors must think of this one! I mean… the Ugly Christmas Sweater. The ribbon-bedecked dog bone. The Santa Cap. The dog bone carrier strap. The perfect popcorn pocket!
And at $13.50? C’MON, Pluto’s a total steal!!
And, of course, the 2017 Happy Holidays Popcorn Bucket is making its debut as well!
Popcorn Stands are also carrying the Festive Holiday Popcorn mix packed with pretzels, M&Ms, and marshmallows drizzled with chocolate sauce.
Yep, SAUCE — not, like, the chocolate shell style. So, it’s a bit of a mess (grab a fork for your popcorn! 😉 ). Still, it’s salty, sweet, buttery, crunchy, and chocolately… it’s all in here!
You’ll find the returning Gingerbread Pop all over the park as well.
Jelly Donut Sundae
See, we had to let you know right away what the Olaf Sundae is really all about, because it looks deceptively simple on the Hollywood Scoops sign.
So, let’s break this thing down. First, you’ve got two scoops of ice cream brilliantly making up the snowman body, with Olaf happily topping the scoops.
Genius, right? But that’s not all… the bottom “snowball” making up the snowman is actually a POWDERED DONUT.
And it’s filled with JELLY!!
Because nothing says “Happy Holidays” like a Jelly Donut Ice Cream Sundae!! Seriously, this is THE BEST!
Seasonal Cupcakes
The Prep and Landing Gingerbread Cupcake is popping up at Counter Service spots including ABC Commissary, Rosie’s All-American Cafe, Catalina Eddie’s, Sweet Spells, and The Trolley Car Cafe for $5.99 (or a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan).
The Gingerbread Cupcake that we have loved at the Studios over the years has received quite a makeover! For starters, there is the addition of a white chocolate Lanny and Wayne — in honor of the return of the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Holiday Nighttime Spectacular featuring the Prep and Landing elves — along with the gingerbread man and candy cane toppers (those candy-style ones we knew and loved as kids!). Plus, the cake has a decidedly lighter hue this year.
But flavor-wise, it’s still packed with seasonal spices and topped with a thick layer of delicious cream cheese frosting. It remains the perfect cupcake for the season, and with all the changes coming to Hollywood Studios, it’s nice to know that some things remain the same.
Not into gingerbread? You might want to try the Olaf Cupcake!
Also found at Counter Service spots all over the park, he’s your basic chocolate, but the coarse sugar delivers a nice bit of crunch over the wintery blue icing.
This, of course, still isn’t the last you’ll see of everyone’s favorite snowman.
The Season’s Sips
Fairfax Fare is one of two places — the other being Min & Bill’s Dockside Diner — where adult guests can make SPIRITS bright with Hot Chocolate Cocktails.
Choose the full size Hot Chocolate Martini, Bailey’s Salted Caramel Hot Cocoa, or Black Cherry Bourbon Hot Chocolate.
Or grab all three with the Hot Chocolate Flight! (I love how they don’t skimp on the whipped cream for these mini beauties, by the way!)
The Hot Chocolate Martini is suuuuper smooth… loved it!
The same can be said of the Bailey’s Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate, with the additional salt really amping up that sweet-meets-salty blend.
The bourbon comes through nice and strong in the Black Cherry Bourbon Hot Chocolate. It packs some punch!
(Pardon me while I jot down a little “Note to Self”: get a full size of that Black Cherry Bourbon Cocoa next trip. 😉 )
And, of course, the Classic Hot Cocoa with marshmallows and whipped cream is available for all ages at ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, PizzeRizzo, Rosie’s All-American Cafe, Catalina Eddie’s, Fairfax Fare, and Min & Bill’s Dockside Diner.
Now, remember… you can still catch days with temps in the 80s around here, so you may find yourself craving something cooler than cocoa.
The “Let It Glow” at Anaheim Produce is your regular Blue Raspberry frozen carbonated beverage, but with a few extra touches.
Namely, Svedka Vodka and a glow cube!
This will be especially fun to sip during the new Sunset Season’s Greetings evening activities, with that glow cube submerged in the liquid underneath the frozen portion of the beverage.
You can also find the Let It Glow at other spots around Echo Lake. Additional cocktail offerings include the Winterberry Cooler, which is Vodka and Chambord with cranberry.
The tart offering with the cranberry offers a nice option in contrast to the other drinks with their strong emphasis on sweetness.
Cheers!
Look for a Peppermint White Russian as well, often available with the souvenir Olaf Sipper!
Ice Cream & Cobbler
You already know about the Olaf Sundae at Hollywood Scoops.
But it’s also serving the Apple Cranberry Cobbler, too.
We grabbed the Apple Cranberry Cobbler at its other location, Min & Bill’s Dockside Diner.
What a great surprise! The Cobbler came out piping hot, rich with apple chunks and lots of flavor.
Perfect for those cool nights coming up!
Gertie’s Getting into the Spirit
Stop by Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction to see Gertie dressed up for the season!
She’s got more than her standard soft-serve menu for you, with the Olaf Pop.
This portable trifle is made with toasted marshmallow, carrot cake, and cream cheese filling.
And while all of the ingredients are there for a totally delicious snack…
… it is on the small side for the price.
But Olaf still comes out on top with another tasty treat!
Mini Stollen
Remember last year’s Stollen Bites for Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!?
This year, you’ll find them under the name of Sugar Frosted Fruit Bites at the Pretzel Carts.
And, as they say at Hollywood Studios… “That’s a Wrap!” We’ll be right back here on Thursday night for the opening of Sunset Season’s Greetings and the return of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! when the Flurry of Fun officially kicks off on November 9th!

Jennifer says
Sooooo… I feel like they didn’t really think that gingerman pop through… It’s kind of messed up…
Deb says
I️ was going to say exactly what Jennifer said!! Unfortunate placement!! Why does he need a stick anyway!?
Andrea says
Do you think these Christmas treats will be available through the first week of January? Will the decorations still be up? Those stollen bites are calling to me.
Jean says
This all looks so good, especially the Christmas tree whoopie pie! I don’t know about the holiday popcorn, though… the combination looks tasty, but chocolate sauce seems a bit odd.
Marlene says
Will this be available at Disneyland too? If so, when?
DFB Sarah says
Marlene, Disneyland will likely have lots of treats unique to that park. We’ll let you know what we find!
DFB Sarah says
Andrea, we have seen decorations and holiday treats through early- to mid-January in the past, so you might still find them on your visit!
Jen says
Do the Pluto buckets hold the same amount of popcorn as the regular buckets, and can they be refilled? It’s so cute!
Val says
I rarely comment but oh, I have to also express my sympathy for the poor Gingerbread Boy. He is one of my favorite treats and now biting his head off will probably put him out of his misery!
Lisa says
Thanks so much for posting the descriptions and prices. I have seen some hints of these on the Disney website but this really helps me plan for my first Christmas time trip. So much food, so little time!
I just hope the Pluto bucket is still available when I get there in December since I missed out on the Oogie Boogie bucket! And Jen I have seen that the Pluto bucket is refillable like the Mickey pumpkin one in the fall.
DFB Sarah says
Jen, the Pluto bucket can be refilled for $1.50 (valid for length of stay!). As for if it holds as much, it seems to hold pretty close to the same amount, but it’s dispersed differently so kind of hard to tell. And we agree: so cute!
Traci says
***” Jen, the Pluto bucket can be refilled for $1.50 (valid for length of stay!).”
Great Info. Our family always buys one of the popcorn buckets and we are big family so that refill price is a steal. : )
Roe says
I just came back from WDW and attended Mickey’s Halloween party and had a blast. Wishing I had extended my stay for Mickey’s Christmas party too.
I love the Pluto popcorn bucket and would like to know if it is available for purchase outside of the parks. It would make a great gift for my Westie filled with Live a Snaps.
Dianna says
I think Walt would be very upset with all the alcoholic drinks being offered in the parks… used to be an alcohol free zone . Especially sad that the Hot Chocolate Flight is alcohol based… kids and non drinkers think Hot Chocolate is for them!!!
