Dining options at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort have been very limited since this spring when the Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters, and the Banana Cabana Pool Bar closed as part of the huge renovation project happening at the resort.
In addition to the three Island Markets (aka repurposed hotel rooms), where guests can find grab-and-go items and purchase refillable mugs, breakfast and dinner are available in a temporary tent located near Centertown, and a food truck is also on site.
But there’s some good news to report! According to wdwnt.com, a new quick service location is set to open in early 2018 at the resort!
When Disney first announced the closure of Old Port Royale and Shutters, we heard that a new quick service restaurant would open near the Trinidad South village. Now we’re hearing that Spy Glass Grille is that restaurant! Disney is reportedly posting jobs for the restaurant, with an opening date sometime in early 2018.
Editor’s Update: It appears that Spy Glass Grille may be a location near the Resort’s main pool. Disney has confirmed that Centertown Market will be the Resort’s primary Quick Service location when it opens in late Summer 2018, along with the refurbished Banana Cabana pool bar and Shutters table service restaurant.
While we don’t have many details about the new restaurant, it is exciting to see changes starting to happen at Caribbean Beach. Once the construction project is completed, the hotel will also have a new waterfront dining and shopping area. There is no official end date for the entire project.
