We’ve been checking out ALL THE GINGERBREAD Displays in Disney World from the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House to the Beach Club’s Gingerbread Carousel. Today, we’re at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and we arrived not knowing exactly what to expect.
You see, the BoardWalk’s Gingerbread Display has varied over the years. You may recall the Sweet Shoppe theme or the days-of-yore Gazebo, or even the year that Stitch took over. Last year, the BoardWalk gave the Resort’s Pastry Chefs the opportunity to create several individual gingerbread houses themed to their choosing.
But for 2017, the whole team is back in action together, and they’ve created a brand new display themed after something very near and dear to our hearts… the BoardWalk’s restaurants!
Actually, “themed” may not be the best word, since they are actually terrific full-on replicas of beloved dining spots like the Flying Fish.
Though a few spots like AbracadaBar aren’t represented (there’s a LOT of dining on the BoardWalk, my friends!), there is still plenty to see moving on to Trattoria al Forno.
Right next door is our dear BoardWalk Bakery (though I’m not sure why two of the A’s are backwards).
Look who’s taken over the kitchen!
ESPN Club rounds out the scene.
The Gingerbread Academy returns this year, giving guests the opportunity to work with the Pastry Team to build a gingerbread house of their very own.
If you’d like to remember your holiday trip to the BoardWalk through more than your pictures, you can pick up some specialty items inside the Inn’s gift shop, Dundry’s Sundries.
Mugs, ornaments, and trays are available to commemorate your visit.
You’ll find holiday treats at the BoardWalk Bakery. Traditional Stollen is available, along with specialty cupcakes.
Cupcake choices include the Chocolate Peppermint Cupcake with Peppermint Bark.
It’s a Matcha Cone Christmas Tree that you’ll see topping the other Chocolate Peppermint Cupcake.
Even the always available Mickey Oreo Cupcake is sporting a bit of holly for some festive flair.
OH, WHAT FUN it is on Disney’s BoardWalk for the HOLIDAYS!!!
