Planning a summer trip to Disney World in the new year? Booking is now available for the 2018 Summer Quick Service Meal Offer, specific to guests staying at select Walt Disney World Value Resorts. It entitles each guest of your party to one FREE quick service meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) per day of stay.
Here are the details:
WHAT: One free quick service meal per day, per person. Each meal includes one entree, and one non-alcoholic beverage OR one beer, wine, or cocktail for guests 21 and over with a valid ID.
WHEN: Book now through February 11, 2017, for arrivals most nights from May 29 through August 25, 2018.
WHERE: Book your reservations at the following: Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort (excludes Fort Wilderness campsites and Disney’s Art of Animation – The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms)
NOTE: This is NOT a free Disney Dining Plan offer. Guests taking advantage of this special promotion will have access to one free quick service meal, per person, per day only. Guests can choose from Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner.
Also, please note that this deal is only good when you buy a non-discounted room and theme park ticket package. While the information released indicates that the deal is good on 5-night/6-day vacation packages specifically, you should know that Disney uses that as an example to encourage you to stay that length of time. You can stay a shorter or longer period of time. Here are the details:
- A minimum 3-night length of stay is required.
- The purchase of a minimum 2-day Magic Your Way base ticket purchase is required.
- No refillable mug or snack credits are included.
In addition, the following restrictions apply:
- This offer cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion.
- The meal does not include gratuities.

Has this type of dining offer been offered in the past, wondering if this is the demise of the full free dining offer?

Who cares…
Just another offer / deal that a DVC member (yes, being selfish) cannot take advantage of…..

Your “When” statement is wrong – it says 2017 instead of 2018 :-).
” Book now through February 11, 2017, ….”

When I booked my trip a few weeks ago, the cast member told me they would probably never have free dining again. I called today to investigate this new deal since I had already added the quick service dining plan for 3 people. What they did was take off one meal from the plan, so instead of paying $52 a day per person, it dropped to $32. I still am not sure that the dining plan is the way to go (hence my using your blog to add up prices for fake meals to see if I hit $32 a day!), but the free meal a day- can’t beat that!

I posted yesterday, but I don’t think I clicked something right, so apologies if this is a repeat post. Mike, I booked a summer trip to DW a few weeks ago and the cast member told me he was fairly sure there would be no more free dining plans (for the entire dining plan, like they did many years back). When I saw this article in my email, I quickly called DW, because there’s no way I would have heard about it if it weren’t for this blog. I had already added the quick service dining plan, so what they do is take off the free meal from that cost if you want to keep the dining plan. For 3 people, that turned out to be about $20 off per day. That left us with paying $32 a day per person for the quick service plan. Again, thanks to this blog, I looked up menus and saw that even with 2 snacks and a meal, we would most likely not reach $32 a day in food. However, I am really grateful for this one free meal, as it helps people like me who are really watching their budget!
On a side note, does anyone have some advice for me on dining plan vs buying food out of pocket? I would be grateful to hear other’s experiences.

Kristin, thanks for all of this helpful information about your experience with the Dining Plan/deciding whether or not it’s useful for your crew! The last time I went to Disney, my family took advantage of the one Quick Service meal per day offering, and we were able to stretch it quite a bit by substituting a side for our beverage (drinking a cup of ice water or something we had with us instead) and sharing the meal with the extra side. If that works for your family, you can potentially feed two people in your party for two meals per day versus just the one. (This works particularly well at a place with a topping bar, like Pecos Bill, Cosmic Ray’s, or Restaurantosaurus.) Have a super trip!

Mike: The one-Quick-Service-meal-per-day package has been offered in the past (my family took advantage of it in summer 2016), but we haven’t heard anything about the demise of the full free dining offer. You know we’ll report on any Dining Plan changes when we hear about them!
Ignacio says
if i buy The one-Quick-Service-meal-per-day package and add the quick-service dining plan, have I 3 meals included?
DFB Sarah says
Ignacio, that’s a good question, and I suggest you give Disney reservations a call about that one. We’re not sure you can double up on dining plans… but it’s an interesting idea! Let us know if you get a response!
