Polynesian Village Resort
is a relaxing tropical getaway — with some great dining and drinking to boot! And since it’s on the Resort Monorail Loop, it’s easy to stop in any time of the day or night on your way to or from Magic Kingdom.
And one of our favorite lounges in the World now has a new reason to slow down and enjoy all that the Polynesian has to offer. Tambu Lounge now has a menu of morning Specialty Beverages!
Tambu Lounge is conveniently located on second level of the soaring Ceremonial House. It’s ‘Ohana adjacent, so many guests enjoy stopping at Tambu Lounge for a drink before gorging themselves on all that ‘Ohana goodness!
The Lapu Lapu is Tambu Lounge’s most well-known drink — because it’s served in a hollowed out pineapple. Yup.
Annnnnnd you can get some ‘Ohana favorites here without an ADR! Check out this ‘Ohana Bread Pudding at the Lounge!
But here’s the big news — Tambu Lounge now offers drinks to go with breakfast. 😉 Grab a Mimosa-Your-Way, Wasabi Bloody Mary, Polynesian Red Eye, Warped Hula Hoop, or the famous Lapu Lapu! (Kudos for all these creative names, too!)

Love the Mai-Tai’s!!!!
Just wish Disney would “adjust” their security system somehow. It’s a royal pain having to go through security at every stop on our monorail pub crawls!!!!
Recently, took a bus to MK from Yacht Club. Security (1) to get into the Kingdom. Boat to Grand for lunch. Monorails were down at the time. Received word the monorails were up, so went through security on the Grand Monorail platform(2), told monorail was down. Back to the boat. Security to get back into the Kingdom entrance area after getting off the boat(3). Didnt’ go into the Kingdom but took bus back to resort. Came back that evening via bus to Kingdom bus drop. Heading to CA Grill. Security again just to get to Contemporary walkway (4). Took bus back to resort, again had to go through security on the walkway over to the Kingdom bus stop (5). So 5 security stops for 1 entrance into the Kingdom.

The Lapu Lapu is fantastic-I had one on our first trip in October 2016 and still think about it. But I don’t think I’d want one first thing in the morning. Lunch definitely but not breakfast 🙂

We were at Tambu late 2017, and boy, the place is BEAT, needs a remodel bad!

Polynesian Red Eye is a MUST. A nice pick me up with breakfast. 😉
Wish I could find the recipe somewhere! It’s a perfect recipe combination but amounts of each ingredient definitely matters!
