June 23rd will be a HUGE day at Disney California Adventure Park in Disneyland Resort! It was recently announced that it will be the opening day for Pixar Pier.
And it was just revealed that it will also be the opening day for the new Lamplight Lounge!
This seaside lounge is taking the place of the beloved (and recently closed) Cove Bar. But Cove Bar will certainly not be entirely forgotten, as the Lobster Nachos from Cove Bar will be featured on the menu!
AND guests will have the opportunity to visit the Cove Bar once more… it will reopen for a brief run starting March 16th, and will close again at the end of May for its permanent transition into Lamplight Lounge.
Once the new Lounge opens, the Lobster Nachos will be featured on the menu along with more California gastro-pub cuisine and signature cocktails unique to the spot. The bar will boast, of course, beautiful waterfront views from upstairs and downstairs. And outdoor seating will offer awesome views of the new Pixar Pier at night, as well as the World of Color spectacular.
According to Disney, the Lamplight Lounge, which is “renovated from an old warehouse factory,” will retain many of its original features. Elements include steel structures and exposed concrete and brick walls, with the original factory floor boards refinished as ceiling panels and floors.
The space will reflect the “creativity, inspirations and personalities of the artists and storytellers who have brought Pixar stories to life.” Look for artistic marks left by the Pixar “regulars” throughout the space, such as concept art, sketched-upon napkins, collectable toys of Pixar characters, and more.

Lobster nachos at Cove Bar were a must-do for me on every trip to Disneyland. I’m glad they’ll be back at Lamplight (but sad to miss out on eating them this weekend). Cove Bar’s fatal flaw was being the only restaurant on property to not offer gluten-options. There was literally nothing safe for a gluten allergic person to eat. So fingers crossed that Lamplignt will be more inclusive and I can drag my whole family to a meal there.

I wonder if it will be 21 & up only, or if families are allowed to dine until a certain time. I know Trader Sam’s is family friendly until after 8pm.
Also… the warehouse factory is super cringe worthy. I’ve seen several people make fun of that statement, a factory that makes old warehouses? They could have said an old factory warehouse or industrial themed space. I just wish their PR person read it a little closer and edited it.
Also wondering if Cove Bar was so packed and Ariel’s Grotto wasn’t that they decided to make the whole building a trendy lounge?
