Your pals at the DFB are back with What’s New, and this week we’re back at Animal Kingdom and the All-Star Resorts! We’ve got menu changes (Satu’li!!), new merchandise, and a couple new activities to share. Let’s gooooooo!
Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom Eats, Drinks, and Menu Changes
First, let’s address these changes at Satu’li Canteen. One is actually a great new addition: Combination Bowls!
That’s right! Now diners can order their bowl with grilled beef and chicken! This is great if you can’t decide between the two — or if you’re sharing a Bowl and both want something different!
It’s still a substantial portion of food, too, as we’ve come to expect at Satu’li, and it still comes topped with your choice of sauce, some cole slaw, and a few popping pearls.
The Grilled Beef is as delicious as ever.
And the Chicken is great too — lightly spiced and with some good color.
The other change at Satu’li is the removal of the Quinoa and Vegetable Salad Base. It’s been replaced by Rice and Black Beans. This is a bit of a bummer for those who enjoy quinoa. But the rice and black beans are tasty, with some mild spices and finely diced veggies mixed in.
Warung Outpost at the Animal Kingdom now has bottled Tiger Beer Asian Lager available.
Over at Tiffins, the wagyu beef option is now Snake River Farms Wagyu Eye of Ribeye.
Thirsty River has added Tiger Beer Asian Lager and McKenzie’s Black Cherry Cider.
The Restaurantosaurus menu has seen some noticeable changes. The Hot Dogasauraus has been removed, and a Battered Fish Entree has been added. Also, the menu now specifies that “Entrees 1, 2, 5, and 6 Include Topping Bar“. We don’t know how they’ll be keeping track of this, as previously it was implied that any meal came with the Topping Bar, and there’s no one stationed to guard the toppings…
The Vegetarian Burger description has been updated from “Vegetarian Black Bean Burger” to “Black Bean Burger with Provolone.” And Chili has been removed as a side option.
Dessert is now a Warm Chocolate Caramel Brownie. Previously it was a Warm Chocolate Turtle Brownie. It looks similar, but the current version no longer has the nuts on top.
The Drinks menu at Restaurantosaurus has also seen two changes. The Cretaceous Cooler (which we enjoyed!) has been removed, and a Lime Margarita has been added.
We told you about the new additions over at Pongu Pongu. They’ve added the delicious and colorful Rum Blossom and a Colossal Pretzel with Cheese Sauce.
Anandapur’s Ice Cream Truck is now serving McKenzie’s Black Cherry Hard Cider Floats. That’s the hard cider with your choice of vanilla, chocolate, or twist soft serve.
And sadness: Souvenir Lotus Glow Cubes and Souvenir Popcorn Drums are no longer available at Mahindi. We loved these!
The Pandora Ice Cream Cart has added Melissa’s Clean Snax in Coconut or Cranberry for $4.00 each. And you can now find Orlando Brewing Company Organic Blonde Ale here for $10.
And at Creature Comforts (this park’s Starbucks location), guests can now find this beautiful Mocha Caramel Cupcake!
And he’s not a food or a menu change, but guests can now meet Timon (with his mischievous look!) in Discovery Island near Creature Comforts. 🙂
New Animal Kingdom Merchandise
Banshees are now available at the Outdoor Merchandise Cart in Pandora!
You’ll find a few new ball caps at Animal Kingdom merchandise locations too.
If Minnie Ears are more your style, there are a few new variations in the park too!
And I’m not sure how anyone can resist this Thumper Purse. That’s one cute bunny (apologies to Judy Hoppes for the use of the word “cute”, but it fits!).
All-Star Resorts Updates
There’s always plenty to see, do, and eat at the All-Star Resorts. And now the Resorts’ Mickey Tie-Dye activity includes Knee High Socks or Crew Socks. Fun!
Over at the World Premier Food Court at All-Star Movies, guests can now find several varieties of Canned Beer.
There’s also now Draft Bud Light here!
We can’t wait to try the new Cinnamon Apple Muffin!
And in case you need a rich chocolate fix, World Premier has added a Chocolate Toffee Crunch Brownie!
Over at Intermission Food Court at All-Star Music, there’s a new Sweet Cream Cheesecake in the pastry case.
And the rose gold trend continues here: Rose Gold Cupcakes at All-Star Music!
This one features swirls of frosting in various shades of pink and ivory. Plus you get chocolate ears!
The S’mores Brownie looks tasty too — with tiny marshmallows baked into the top.
And there’s a Peanut Butter & Jelly Cupcake update. Yum!
Doesn’t look like the most inventive cupcake ever, but when there’s peanut butter involved, we’re intrigued.
There are also some menu changes at All-Star Music, including a new Sausage and Pepper Sub.
They’ve also added Large Mighty Meaty Pizza and Large Simply Supreme Pizza to the menu.
And for something a little more unique, there are a few Bowls on the menu — including a Create Your Own option! See our full review of the new bowls here!
There are also a few new Featured Cocktails at All-Star Music. (The Bloody Marys and Mimosas have been at Sports for a while and finally made the journey over.)
Speaking of All-Star Sports, they’re now serving a Plant-Based Chicken Quesadilla.
The BLT Flatbread has been removed, and a Margherita Flatbread has been added.
There’s also a new Brie and Apple Grilled Cheese. That sounds delicious!
The Brisket Burger has been removed at All-Star Sports and replaced by a Barbecued Pulled Pork Burger.
And the Carrot Cake Cupcake here has been redesigned. It’s now sparkly.
That’s it, Disney food friends! Stay tuned for new everything from the World!

We actually cancelled our Tiffins reservation after discovering the change to the beef dish. With it being the same price and seemingly removing the short rib from the equations, I wanted to see some reviews first. Unfortunate, as that was a fantastic dish.
Also, we stopped at Satuli Tavern and I KNEW I had a different dish on my last visit and kept thinking I was crazy that I thought they had quinoa as a base. You clarified things for me. And I’m disappointed with that change as well as I’d rarher have a different option than two rice bases.
Pam says
I am sooooooo disappointed they took away the kale/quinoa choice at Satu’li. That was my favorite to go with the grilled chicken. I live very close to WDW and frequently go there just to have one of my favorite meals. AND, it is getting increasingly difficult to find HEALTHY options……..beans and rice….bleech….
Maggie says
It is a bummer that they got rid of the Quinoa and vegetable base at Satu’li, it was delicious with the tofu. It will still likely be my favorite quick service restaurant at WDW though.
Sandra G says
Nice to see the All Stars adding to their menu options, as we usually stay at Music and make use of all three food courts. That brie and apple sandwich looks great for us non-meat eaters. Now if only they would bring back those huge oatmeal raisin cookies I loved so much. I would consume several each trip. The fancy cupcakes are fun but all things being equal, I’d rather have that chewy, satisfying cookie with my hot tea.
Jill says
So are the lotus glow cubes not available at all or just not at the Mahindi location?
tink says
Ohh what a pitty. Got a visit planned in april. I really wanted the nicer and more healty option of quinoa 🙁
DFB Sarah says
Jill, you can still find the Lotus Glow Cube at The Feeding Ground on Discovery Island and sometimes at ice cream carts around the Animal Kingdom!
Chris Lange says
Are they still charging 50 dollars for the Banshees at the park? They are 85 dollars online…
Nicole says
The menu at Satuli has mixed whole grains and rice. What are the mixed whole grains? Is there quinoa in that?
DFB Sarah says
Nicole, in our experience, no, there hasn’t been quinoa in the mixed whole grains and rice. But menus and items are always subject to change, so this could vary!
