The 2018 Epcot Food and Wine Festival runs from August 30-November 12, 2018, and we’re already thinking about what we want to eat this year!
Each year certain food booths at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival wow us with unique dishes, and today we’re going to check out seven dishes that we hope return to this year’s Festival! The menus for 2018 haven’t been released yet, but a few of these dishes have been on the menu for a couple of seasons so there is hope for a return!
Let’s check them out!
Smoked Corned Beef with Warm Crispy Potatoes, Pickled Onions and Blonde Ale Beer Fondue featuring BelGioioso Romano and America Grana Cheeses at Flavors from Fire
was a new food booth in 2017 and this dish wowed us — it was crazy good!
Even if you don’t like corned beef you’ll want to try this dish if it returns this year! And you’ll want to ask for extra cheese!
Loaded Mac ‘n’ Cheese with Nueske’s® Pepper Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Peppers and Green Onions at Active Eats
The mac and cheese from Active Eats has been on our Best of the Fest list for a couple of years, and if it doesn’t return this year we’re going to seriously miss it!
This dish combines Nueske’s® Pepper Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Peppers and Green Onions together for savory goodness. If it comes back this year you’ll want to be first in line!
Wasabi Shumai Steamed Pork Dumplings at Japan
has been hitting out of the park during the last few Festivals at Epcot (including this year’s Festival of the Arts and Flower and Garden Festival).
These dumplings were a hit for us last year — enough spice to be interesting but not so much that you can’t enjoy them!
Smoked Beef Brisket and Pimento Cheese Served on Griddled Garlic Toast at Hops & Barley
The brisket in this dish has been perfect each time it’s featured at Hops and Barley.
Definitely ask for extra cheese on this one, too!
Baked Shrimp Scampi Dip with Sourdough Baguette at Coastal Eats
was new in 2017, and if it returns this year we hope they bring back this dip – it WOWED us!
The Baked Shrimp Scampi Dip was buttery and amazing. You definitely want to try it this year if it’s back!
Warm Irish Cheddar Cheese and Stout Dip with Irish Brown Bread at Ireland
The Warm Irish Cheddar Cheese and Stout Dip from Ireland is SO good you won’t want to share it with anyone.
Also? Skip the bread and just eat it with a spoon. You can thank us later.
Tequila Chipotle Shrimp at Mexico
always has a shrimp dish, but 2017’s Tequila Chipotle Shrimp was a winner!
The flavors were great and even the presentation wowed us with this dish.

Those are seven dishes that we really hope come back this year, but we can’t forget about a couple of our other standby favorites!
Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup served with a Pretzel Roll at Canada
This dish has been a staple at the Canada food booth for YEARS and while we’re pretty sure it’ll be back again this year, we wanted to mention it!
You’ll always want to queue up for this in Canada!
Freshly Baked Carrot Cake and Cream Cheese Icing at Hops & Barley
This Carrot Cake from Hops and Barley is a favorite Food and Wine dessert here at DFB.
This is a not-to-be-missed dish! And, if you want to make it at home we have the recipe!

Top choice for our vegetarian group was the Ethiopian Red Lentil stew. The Greek nachos were also popular.

My top choices are almost all completely different! I want to see back the Zesty Cheeseburger and Cheddar Cheese Macaroni Handwich, Avocado Crema, Seared Scallops (Coastal Eats), Loaded Greek “nachos” , and the Whisky and Frozen Coke!

Got out last year’s booklet. We tried 32 different items, but not one on your list. Lol. Here’s our favorites. Sweet Dark Chocolate Raspberry Torte. Braised Beef Stroganoff. Caramelized Onion and Cheese Tart. Seared Scallops. Pulled Duck Confit. Seared VenisonLoin. Loaded Greek nachos. Korma Chicken. Charcuterie in a Cone. Lobster Roll. Warm goat cheese Pudding. Creme Brulee. Plus my guilty pleasure was the SPAM Hash, which my wife says proves I am crazy. 🙂

My favorite was the Korean booth a couple years ago. I miss that!
Laurel says
Handwich!!!!! It was so good I legit have dreams about it.

Thanks for sharing your favorites, Mark!

We miss the Golabki from the Poland booth in 2016, it was the best new item we tried in YEARS and they killed the whole booth.
Also, doubt your Canadian Cheddar Cheese soup returns to the festival, because like the Korean Kimchi Hot Dog, they turned the soup into a 365 day item and placed it at Refreshment Port!!!

Sadly, I missed the F&W Festival in 2017. Taht Baked Shrimp Scampi Dip with Sourdough Baguette looks unbelievable!
