Happy Monday! We’re back with another DFB Video, and I’m sharing the things I’ll NEVER do again in Disney World!
There’s a reason we go back to Disney World again and again (or are drawn to it for the first time). It’s a magical, happy place where — as the sign says — Dreams Come True! And while that’s all true, there are always things we could all do — or even NOT do — to make our trip even better. So, do you wanna hear the things I’ll never do again in Disney World? Then tune in to our latest DFB YouTube video!
And if you love this video, there’s plenty more for you to enjoy over on our DFB YouTube Channel!

I will never take my toddler to California Grill again, lol. From now on, it’s only the noisier restaurants for us until he is older. He wasn’t even especially noisy but I don’t want to be one of “those families” again!
I will definitely take your advice about requesting a room change in the future. We were not happy with our room in Pago Pago at the Polynesian. It was too far from the lobby and we didn’t feel like we were part of the resort. In fact, much to my dismay, we didn’t care for the Polynesian at all and much prefer the tower at the Contemporary.
Also, I will never get deluxe dining and a club level room again. Much too much food… one or the other!

I will never again take a Disney bus if I have a dining reservation at another resort, even if I’m not running late. We got to the bus stop at POR at 8am, and we were late for our 10am breakfast reservation at Kona. I figured that we had plenty of time to bus to MK and then monorail to the Poly. Unfortunately the bus ran late/slow, and then we had to go through bag check at MK even though we weren’t going into the park, which took more than 30 minutes by itself. I was unable to call Kona to tell them we were running late because they only give you the general reservation line number. They still let us in even though we were about 15 minutes late, but that was way too stressful. I will most definitely drive or Uber in the future!

We will never do more than 2 park days in a row. Our “off” days have become our favorite days just hanging out around the pool. And we will never forget how many great restaurants there are just a mile off property. We save hundreds of dollars each trip just by dining off property a couple of times!

I get the times of year AJ is saying not to go, but I do have to say end of August might be hot, but AMERICA is hot then, and Fl schools go back early, so you can get good deals on rooms, and the crowds are totally manageable whenever I’ve been.

I will probably not do the dining plan again. I have a Tables in Wonderland card, and we like that much better than attempting to figure out what we can and can’t order and not ordering things we want because they aren’t a good value on the plan … it’s all just a lot of stuff that I don’t really want to deal with. I guess we might, at some point, get it again if we were going for food and wine, since there is no AP, DVC, or Tables discount at the little booths, but even then, I’m not really sure it would work out to be a great value for us.

Aww c’mon, Beverly’s not so bad… ok so maybe I’m in the minority there 🙂
Also re: buses when you’re late for reservations, you can totally make that work. My family and I had a breakfast AR at Boma one time coming from OKW, but we figured we’d just take the first bus we saw since we had plenty of time when we left. We wound up at DHS and half an hour later… we were still at DHS. My mom asked a bus driver who was just dropping off at the AKL stop when the next bus would come and mentioned we had an AR, and within a few minutes a bus came for us. Not just that, but there was a CM waiting for us at the bus stop at AKL. Never underestimate the power of talking to CMs if you need to get to an AR!

We will never stay on-site again. Ever. For your price differential of a regular vs. savannah view at AKL ($100), we rent a town house with 3br, 3ba, full living room and kitchen, and a private splash pool. We also can get to the touch points at all the parks with the possible exception of MK faster via our car than most people on site can get there using Disney transportation. That’s all for $100/night.
On shoes, we really think it depends on what you are used to. Robin has back problems, so Vionic sandals are all she is comfortable wearing for a long period of time. She’s done a week+ in the parks on multiple occasions in Vionics, with nary a blister or foot problem once. Then again, she’s a beach girl who grew up either barefoot or in sandals. She even wears sandals on cold days in winter here in the mountains, much to my elderly mother’s frustration LOL. That said, we’ve seen people in the morning at MK in things like stiletto heels and (I kid you not) wooden shoes like those worn in Holland. We’ve always wanted to follow these people around to see just how long they would last LOL.

I will never try Beverly because it’s awful and anyone who thinks it is can’t be trusted.
I will never go to be our guest for dinner again unless I have money to blow because it’s way expensive and you don’t get that much to eat.
I will never get a mickey pretzel again. There’s better pretzels you can get at WDW.
