Let’s set the scene: you’ve finally scored an Advance Dining Reservation for Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. But you don’t know exactly how much time to allow to get there from your Resort, since you don’t have access to your Resort’s bus schedule in your room as you get ready to go.
Well… now you’re going to have your Resort’s bus schedule literally at your fingertips!! Disney is rolling out a new feature on the My Disney Experience app which will allow Disney Resort guests to see real-time estimates for when the next buses will depart from their Disney Resort hotel, as well as when they will arrive at their destination!
The estimates will include bus times for all four theme parks, both Disney water parks, and Disney Springs. The “See Bus Times” feature will become available right from your device when viewing an active Disney Resort hotel reservation linked to your account.
Remember to install updates to the app, as doing so will enable you to utilize all the features offered such as reserving FastPasses, finding locations for Character Greetings within the parks, tracking Disney Dining Plan credits, ordering and prepaying for your food in advance with Mobile Order, and MUCH more.

I am excited about new bus schedule on the Disney my experience app, but where do you find it? Does it only appear when you are there?
Gitta Gilyan says
Transportation snafus would certainly be eased if more walkways were built. For example, it would be terrific if the Magic Kingdom circle could be completed allowing one to walk from Grand Floridian to MK to Contemporary to Polynesian, back to GF. I would love to be able to walk to the Wilderness Lodge too from the Grand Floridian. There shouldn’t be so few sidewalks.

Susan, be sure you’ve updated the app, and then expect to see the option for wait times when viewing an active Disney Resort hotel reservation linked to your account. The “active” part of that is the key!

Am I the only one that thinks the addition of bus times to the app will make things more stressful?

This will be nice to have, even if just to manage expectations. I have to say, though, that I’m over the Disney bus system. For the last 25 years I have been buying into the idea that Disney insiders MUST stay on property to maximize perks. After my mom decided to join us 60 days out from our August trip, we cancelled our Wilderness Lodge room and rented a 3-BR townhouse (for 1/3 the price) in Windsor Hills. What a revelation! Driving our rented mini-van, which carried my mom’s rented ECV, was SO MUCH faster than making our way to the bus stops, waiting, riding the bus and walking into the parks from the bus stops. Parking was super easy (and “free” thanks to my AP), with trams always ready to board as we parked. Dining at WDW resorts and Disney Springs no longer required leaving 2 hours for travel time, instead taking 20 minutes, door to door. I thought I’d miss the packaged delivery to the resort, but we sent our purchases to the front of the park and waited no more than 2 minutes to collect them at the end of the night. Pre-trip persistence paid off and we eventually secured all the ADRs and FPs we wanted. The only park that was more challenging was the MK, due to the TTC situation, but those 2 days were a small trade-off given the time and money saved over our 11-day trip. I’m sad to say that I will have a hard time convincing myself to stay on site next time, meaning I probably won’t even use this bus wait time app.

I have an active reservation for Aug 26-Sept 9. My app is up to date. I cannot find this option to see bus times anywhere. I tried using the search bar. Nothing. What am I missing?
DFB Sarah says
Gina, that feature becomes active on your arrival day, I believe.
