Are you ready to PLAY BIG in Toy Story Land?!?
The first of two new Lands coming to Disney World’s Hollywood Studios is opening this Saturday, June 30th (with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to follow in 2019)! Toy Story Land brings two new attractions, a new Counter Service restaurant, new Toy Story Character Meet-and-Greets and more to us all, as we shrink down to the size of toys — by way of Disney Imagineering — when we enter this new Land!
We’re excited to be at a Media Preview for Toy Story Land today and tomorrow, and we are so happy to bring YOU along for all the fun as we go!
There’s LOTS to see here in Andy’s backyard, so let’s head in and have some fun with Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and many more of our Toy Story pals!
Slinky Dog Dash
Slinky Dog is ready to take you along — quite literally! — on the Slinky Dog Dash!
This family-friendly coaster comes to you by way of Toy Story’s Andy, who has assembled his Dash & Dodge Mega Coaster Kit…
… and THIS is the result!
Of course, getting there is half the fun, so step in line!
Then get ready to DASH and spot a few Toy Story pals on the way!
Seriously, this is a great ride! It’s really fun — and packs a bit more of a thrill than I thought it would! So while it’s family-friendly, as they say, it’s not for the infant set. And bonus… it’s a longer ride than I anticipated, too!
I’ll see you again soon, too, Wheezy!
Alien Swirling Saucers
Board a toy rocket and get ready to SWIRL…
… with the little green men in Alien Swirling Saucers!
When you step into your rocket, you’re stepping into a play set that Andy won at PIZZA PLANET 🙂 .
If you are familiar with Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Disney California Adventure’s Cars Land, you know the drill because this is a similar ride experience (only with THE CLAW!!). For sure this one is for ALL the toys out there — both big and small!
Oh… and don’t forget to report for duty on your way in. Be sure to say hello to Buzz Lightyear!
Toy Story Mania
Of course, Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers join the already (and always) popular Toy Story Mania, which has established its new home base in Toy Story Land.
And it’s just as fun as ever!!
It really IS a great ride, Buzz… even with all the new stuff in store! For instance…
Woody’s Lunch Box
is a brand new Counter Service location serving up new eats with nostalgic twists to all of us toys in Toy Story Land!
Andy has turned his lunch box on its side and propped it up with his thermos to give his Green Army Men a place to eat. But Andy stepped away, and that’s when the toys turned the whole scene into Woody’s Lunch Box where we can now grab a bite (or two)!
Now, for a long time we’ve known this spot would serve food by way of a walk-up window.
Sounds simple enough, right? But the level of detail in this area… just LOOK! The Christmas lights hanging over all of the umbrella-topped tables!
The note from Andy’s Mom to her favorite deputy forming a table top!
The seating in the area made of wheels of Mini Babybel® Snack Cheese! (Disney partnered with Mini Babybel® for Woody’s Lunch Box, by the way. It’s the Official Snack Cheese of Disney World Resort, Disneyland, and Disney Cruise Line.)
We can’t wait to bring you our full review of Woody’s Lunch Box soon! In the meantime, though, here’s a peek at the Lunch and Dinner menu (Woody’s Lunch Box serves up breakfast, too).
Here are closeups of each section (but you can click any of the images to enlarge, if needed, for easier reading). Sandwiches & More features an assortment of sandwiches featuring a BBQ Brisket Melt, a Grilled Three Cheese, and a Monte Cristo with raspberry jam. And the “Totchos” are, of course, tater tot nachos!
Have a look!
The Turkey, Tomato, and Lettuce on Multigrain Bread is the chilled sandwich option.
The sandwiches are served with your choice of Tomato-Basil Soup, Macaroni Salad, or Potato Barrels.
And, of course, you wanna see those Totchos!
Kids can enjoy a Grilled Cheese or Turkey Sandwich, and this is also where you’ll find Mystic Portal Punch with or without a Souvenir Alien Sipper. Other drinks are up for grabs, too, including Grown-Ups’ Lemonade, a signature cocktail for Toy Story Land!
Or you can wash it all down with an Ice Cream Float with Barq’s Root Beer… or the fountain drink of your choice!
For Dessert any time of day (yep, even Breakfast!), check out the Lunch Box Tarts in Raspberry or Chocolate-Hazelnut with Candied Bacon.
If you’re starting your day in Toy Story Land, the Breakfast Bowl will be among your options, complete with potato barrels and scrambled eggs covered in smoked brisket country gravy!
And the Smoked Turkey Breakfast Sandwich will be around for the morning, too, among other options. (We can’t wait to check out the S’mores French Toast Sandwich!)
Keep an eye out for our full review! And remember: the Green Army Men will ALSO be keeping an eye out… for Andy’s return at Woody’s Lunch Box!
Speaking of…
Green Army Patrol and Green Army Drum Corps
Ten-HUT! Sarge and the Green Army Patrol can be encountered in Toy Story Land throughout the day. Don’t miss the chance to participate in an interactive boot camp!
Play games like “Sarge Says” and join in the fun with giant Pixar balls, huge colorful crayons, and more!
And look for the Green Army Drum Corps to perform in Andy’s backyard several times throughout the day! You’ll want to check your Times Guide (picked up at the park entrance) or the My Disney Experience app so you don’t miss the Corps.
Toy Story Character Meet and Greet
You’ll have the chance to say “Hi” to Woody and Buzz in Toy Story Land!
And Jessie, the Yodeling Cowgirl, will be joining the guys in the meet-and-greet fun, too!
The toys will be stationed in different areas outside for autographs, photos, and hugs. Looking for Buzz Lightyear?
He’ll be near the first set of Tinker Toys as you pass Woody’s statue on your way in. Find Woody by the entrance to Toy Story Mania, and look for Jessie near a big fence with Andy’s name on it, over by Alien Swirling Saucers!
Toy Story Land Merchandise
Want to show the world that you played in Toy Story Land?
You can pick up some goodies to do help you do exactly that! (And, man, if that Play Family Camper doesn’t take you right back to the good ol’ days, I don’t know what will!)
Everything from shirts to mugs to toys (naturally!) are available. And so are — as promised — the new Slinky Dog and Alien Headbands among the hats and hair accessories!
So Long, Partners!
It’s been a BLAST so far in Toy Story Land!!
And we’ll see you right back from here real soon! Until then…
“So long, Partners!”

Priscilla says
Looks like so much fun! But did they have a soft opening? How were you able to go in?
S. Tizzard says
Land looks good but again disappointed that those who have Coeliac Disease and need Gluten Free food aren’t catered for.
Much more needs to be done to cater for those with food allergies.
Essie says
This is all just so exciting!
Cindy says
Thanks for sharing. Will be coming again in December from Toronto, Canada – can’t wait.
DFB Sarah says
S.Tizzard: We hear your pain. We keep our eyes peeled for all kinds of allergen alternatives, so we’ll keep reporting when we see interesting options. In case you didn’t see this video from a few days ago, here’s the link for a Gluten Free at WDW video!
DFB Sarah says
Priscilla, AJ attended a media preview yesterday. 🙂
Sara McCaslin says
Hi, AJ,
Question about getting into TSL: If you have a fast pass for either attraction, will you still need to wait in the line to get into the new land because of capacity limits?
Thanks!
DFB Sarah says
Sara, cast members have been taking small groups of Fastpass+ holders into Toy Story Land at a time so that they do not have to wait in the line to enter the land.
