The Animal Kingdom called out to us and we had to visit this week! We found so many new food items AND new merch that we had to make our regular “What’s New” into two posts! We’re tackling food first, of course!
Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Discovery Island New Menu Items
(this park’s Starbucks location) is offering a new Strawberry Cake Pop that we think is smiling at us! It’s really delicious if you’re a strawberry fan!
Good news for coffee lovers out there who don’t want to stand in a Starbucks line for a cup of regular brewed coffee – the hot dog cart located near Pizzafari and Tiffins now has coffee available starting at park open and is typically available until around 1pm.
Nomad Lounge has some new menu items available – and these are included on their allergy-friendly menu. Items include:
- Accara: Black Eyed Pea Fritters
- Impossible Burger Sliders
- Truffle Poutine
The chefs at Tiffins have been busy! There is a new lunch tasting menu as well as other new items on their menu including Peaches and Cream appetizer, Crispy Corn Cake entree, and a Tiffins Dessert Trio. The Lunch Tasting Menu is served from 11:30 – 3:30 and is $35.00 per person. It includes choice of one appetizer and one entree OR choice of one entree and one dessert.

Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Africa New Menu Updates

I’m just waiting for the day that you announce that the pulled buffalo chicken waffle sandwich has returned. One day….one day.

I like the canteen the best, even though it doesn’t look like it holds a great deal.
Sandra says
You would think it wouldn’t be that hard to include a salad or other vegetarian option on that tasting menu. Wonder if both appetizers are veg=friendly and if they’d let you have both plus dessert? Not cost effective maybe, but really, not even some veggie noodles?

Sandra, you could always ask!
Roz says
Sandra, a cool, fresh salad sounds great !!

My girls would LOVE the canteen! It definitely pulls double-duty as a souvenir. I can see my kids wanting to bring this everywhere with them after we got home! It’s a great price too, although I can’t really tell how big it is.
