BOO to YOU from Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!! Mickey has just kicked off his very first Party of the Halloween Season in grand style. This extra-ticket event will run on select nights (find the dates here) in the Magic Kingdom from now through the BIG DAY… October 31st for Halloween!
The Party serves up all sorts of not-so-scary tricks and treats such as special entertainment like the Boo-To-You Parade and Happy HalloWishes Halloween Fireworks, meet-and-greets with characters (some rarely seen) in their Halloween costumes, Trick-or-Treating stations, and SO much more along with access to the park’s attractions!
New Party-exclusive features this year include select attractions transforming for the Party! These include new lighting effects on Mad Tea Party, pirates interacting with guests on Pirates of the Caribbean while everyone joins the search for “Gunpowder Pete,” and a special soundtrack and new effects will transform Space Mountain. Another new addition is the Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam dance party.
As you can tell, there’s LOTS to see… and EAT, because aside from ALL THE CANDY at the trick-or-treat stations, there are also Party-exclusive SNACKS to be had!! So let’s grab a map…
… so we can start out by finding ALL THE TREATS!
Treat Locations
You’ll definitely want that map (given to guests upon entering the party) so you can find the Treat Locations and fill it up with complimentary candy… if you remember the Magic Words 😉 : TRICK OR TREAT?!
Aside from the map, stations can be identified by looking for area markers.
Once again this year there are great allergen-free treats for those in need. Simply request one of these designated teal trick-or-treat bags at a Treat Location. (Teal is the chosen color for allergy awareness at Halloween.)
You can also find the allergy-friendly centers in Liberty Square and at the front of the park next to Tony’s Town Square. Cast Members can help provide any additional information or assistance you may need.
Halloween Specialty Snacks
There are several snacks available at Counter Service locations all around the park for additional purchase.
Now, something great to know about these first few snacks is that they are available ALL DAY for Magic Kingdom visitors, even outside of the Party!
All Day Treats
And do we have a fun one to start with: the Not-So-Poison Apple Cupcake!
Main Street Bakery is where you find this JUMBO red-spiced apple cupcake.
It’s full of surprises, from the red candied pieces surrounding the SUPER thick buttercream on top…
… to the layer of tasty pecan crunch tucked between the frosting and the cake!
That layer — along with the generous apple spice flavors — lends a fun autumnal flavor to this impressive looking and really terrific-tasting treat that would certainly tempt Snow White… as well as the rest of us!
Main Street Bakery has also brought back a returning favorite: the Halloween Cinnamon Roll, loved for its Mickey shape and chocolate spider web!
Another ALL DAY treat through Halloween is the Maleficent Waffle Cone at Storybook Treats!
As is fitting for a Disney Villain, the flavor of the Maleficent-green lime soft serve is tart.
Honestly, a bit too tart and tangy without the Sprite to balance it out (as is the case when it’s served in the Peter Pan Float, which is really enjoyable). The unique black waffle cone its served in matches Maleficent’s style, but lends no additional flavor.
But at least the chocolate Maleficent horns offer an extra treat!
But while the Maleficent Waffle Cone may give a two-for-one treat, the new Candy Corn Milkshake offers THREE for one!
Find it at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Tomorrowland.
This seasonal shake gives you a candy corn milkshake (which has more of a vanilla flavor), a HUGE puff of Cotton Candy AND a gigantic Mickey marshmallow… all in one!
Though it doesn’t taste particularly like candy corn, it sure is yummy overall, and lots of fun, to boot!
Auntie’s is also where you’ll find the returning favorite Candy Corn Soft Serve Ice Cream in a cup or cone.
The Minnie Witch Brownie has flown into Casey’s Corner!
This adorable white chocolate-topped treat is one of the all-day offerings, but it was a bit late flying in on the first day.
Hopefully Minnie and her broomstick will land your way the next time your at Casey’s!
Party Exclusive Snacks
Okay, this next round of snacks is exclusive to guests at the Party (though a select few will make their all-day debut later in the season, where noted). And I have to start with a warning… “BEWARE OF HITCHHIKING GHOSTS!”
But don’t beware of them so much that you miss stopping by Aloha Isle for the Hitchhiking Ghosts Dessert!
The Hitchhiking Ghosts (chocolate) are tucked inside a black cream puff DOOMBUGGY!
The Cookies and Cream filling has the consistency of frosting, and a licorice safety bar completes the treat!
But the Ghosts? They’ve got one of their fellow Happy Haunts to keep them company… it’s the Madame Leota Tart!
Stop by Liberty Square Market to find this sweet treat!
A tart shell is filled with sweet toasted marshmallow pastry creme, and a chocolate Madame Leota peeks through her crystal ball… which is made of hard sugar!
Delicious and totally Instagram-ready!
Gaston’s Tavern is serving something extra special! (Okay, Gaston would tell you the Tavern is always the most special place in the park. But, I digress.) It’s the Oogie Boogie Meringue!!!
It’s a little difficult to tell in the pictures (you have to be in the right atmosphere which doesn’t exactly allow for great pics 😉 ), BUT… he glows in the dark!!
Oogie Boogie joins in with the rest of the gluten-friendly treats at the Party with pomegranate-cherry gelée and gummy worms along with the meringue topper.
Golden Oak Outpost in Frontierland has a special Cider House menu for the Party!
THIS is where you’ll find the fall favorite Caramel Stuffed Pretzel! Read all about it here!
Refreshing Chilled Cider is up for grabs, which is great since the nights are still quite warm in central Florida.
It’s the perfect thing to go with your bag of tasty Cinnamon Donuts!
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is delivering some spicy and savory Hades Nachos!
It’s the fiery Buffalo Chicken topping the black bean tortilla chips that brings the heat! (And of course I’m loving all that plastic cheese, too!!)
Mosey no further and stay at Pecos Bill’s if you want to try a Party classic: Worms ‘n Dirt!
This year, the chocolate pudding is topped with gluten-free chocolate cake crumbs, making the entire dessert gluten free (including the new finishing touch: Master Gracey’s gravestone along with the traditional gummy worms)!
The Worms and Dirt will be available all day for all guests starting October 1st.
The Pumpkin Cheesecake is back this year… but in a whole new way.
This year, it joins the lineup of gluten-friendly items!
It is completed with caramel glaze and a vanilla pecan cake base.
Speaking of Pumpkin… the famous Pumpkin Waffle Sundae is back this year, too, at Sleepy Hollow. But it’s also received a makeover…
Check out the Zero Pumpkin Waffle Sundae! (And, hey, this one will be available all day starting October 1st!)
Two warm Zero Pumpkin Waffles are served with vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and caramel drizzle.
And now all we need to know is: WHERE can we get that Waffle Maker?!
Also at Sleepy Hollow (on Party nights only) is the return of the Jack Skellington Push Pop!
Classic chocolate and vanilla flavors make up this still-unique treat.
Spooky Souvenirs
Let’s get a good look at this year’s Souvenir Popcorn Buckets!
The Glow-in-the-Dark Oogie Boogie Popcorn Bucket is exclusive to the Party in Disney World (Disneyland guests will see him appear later this year)!
The 2018 Happy Halloween Refillable Popcorn Bucket will be found at Popcorn Carts throughout Disney World for all guests throughout the season!
The Headless Horseman is galloping in on a Straw Clip once again!
Find him at various Counter Service spots around the park.
More — and NEW — Party Fun!!
New experiences are in store for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party guests this year! And several of them involve some of the park’s most popular attractions!
PIRATES will interact with guests as everyone joins in the search for Gunpowder Pete at Pirates of the Caribbean! Aaaaargh, Matey!
New lighting effects transform the Mad Tea Party!
And you won’t believe what you see on Space Mountain…
… mainly because you WON’T SEE ANYTHING!! The entire ride is completely dark and you can’t see a thing, and it’s all accompanied by loud rock music! It’s super thrilling (even if you’ve already been on Space Mountain before) and SUPER, CRAZY FUN!
Little ones especially will have a blast at the Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam dance party.
These new experiences join returning favorites like rarely seen Character Meet and Greets…
… the Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, the Happy HalloWishes Fireworks, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular, performances by the Cadaver Dans…
… and more!
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Card
This year’s Party-exclusive Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom spell card features the Little Orange Bird from Sunshine Tree Terrace!
Don’t forget to pick yours up (it’s included with your Party admission) at the Firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A.
Merchandise
As always, guests at the Party have access to exclusive merchandise.
Fans of the film Hocus Pocus may be excited about several of the items!
The film is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year!
Once again, Pin Collectors have lots to look forward to.
And your host Mickey, along with Minnie, bedecks plenty of the offerings, too.
The Party’s MagicBand has a limited edition size of 4,000.
We hope you’ve had LOTS of Not-So-Scary FUN with us tonight!
Oh, and one more thing… BOO!!!

Hi! My family is heading to the not so scary halloween party in October and have seen in your videos from previous years that there was a haunted mansion themed dessert that was sort of like a tart with a mousse filling and there were 3 different varieties. We were wondering if that is still around this year as we wanted to try them!! 🙂
DFB Sarah says
Hi, Claire! We’re glad you enjoy the videos! The Haunted Mansion tarts were specific to last year’s party, and they have not returned this year. Instead they’ve got the Doombuggy Puffs and the Madame Leota Tart — both delicious! Have a great time at the Party!
Laura says
Do you know if they were allowing the early entrance this year prior to the 7pm ticketed time like previous years? And if so what time can you show up?
DFB Sarah says
Laura, Party guests can get in as early as 4PM. 🙂
Kau says
Where can I get a headless horseman straw if I can’t go to the Not So Scary Halloween Party?
Katy says
Curious if the pumpkin cheesecake lives up to expectations? Was it heavy or light on pumpkin flavor? Also, the zero pumpkin waffles will be available at the party before October 1? I thought I read some where they wouldn’t, but would be pleasantly surprised if they were. Pumpkin freak over here. Lol. Love the blog!
DFB Sarah says
Katy, the Pumpkin Cheesecake is heavy on the pumpkin! As for Zero: you can get him in waffle form during the party now — and all day long starting on October 1. Hope this helps!
Jess says
This is all *really* exciting but.. I can’t stop staring at your nail polish! Do you happen to know the brand/colour please? :3
