Guess who’s coming to Disney World’s Wilderness Lodge? Snow White, Grumpy, and Dopey will all be greeting guests as part of the brand new Storybook Dining at Artist Point!
Oh, and guests will have the chance to encounter someone else, too…
Artist Point will transition from its current Table Service Signature dining experience into Storybook Dining this winter.
Guests will enter an “Enchanted Forest-like setting” inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Guests will also enjoy visits from Snow White, Grumpy, and Dopey during their themed prix fixe meal which will include starters, individually plated entrees, and “sweet spells.” (How exactly The Queen will make her appearance has yet to be revealed.)
We still await many details such as opening date, when Advance Dining Reservations can be made, specific menu items, Disney Dining Plan entitlements, and more. We look forward to providing those details as soon as we can! Also note that some menu favorites from Artist Point may find new homes, and we’ll keep you posted on that, too. At publishing time, reservations for the current Artist Point experience can be made through November 10, 2018.
In the meantime, though, we’d love to hear what you think about this new character meal coming to Artist Point! Please let us know!

I have literally been waiting for over 15 years to get Grumpy’s autograph and have not been able to see him. We will definitely be there as soon as we can!
Essie says
It sounds wonderful and like a perfect reason to visit a resort that I’ve been wanting to see!
Debbie says
I love Dopey can’t wait I definitely will be there – hope to enjoy venue – haven’t been to Artist’s Point before ??????
Jennifer says
My favorite princess! I’m thrilled!
Jeff says
Sounds like a really smart move by Disney. Should boost popularity tremendously.
Artist Point has been my least favorite signature restaurant for years. Stayed at Wilderness Lodge last year, and didn’t even consider booking an ADR.
I’ll refrain from making the comment I really want to about the guy whose “been waiting for over 15 years to get Grumpy’s autograph”.
But it’s not easy for me.
Len says
It’s been years since I’ve eaten at Artist’s Point. As I recall, it was fine but nothing spectacular, and I’m sure, especially with the recent expansion of DVC at the site, that there’s a sizable increase in guests that would jump at a in-hotel character meal. So overall, a good move. I’m hopeful and excited for how they transform the space. Disney’s been on quite a long role for really going all out on design in recent years; here’s a chance for them to do something iconic (I’m suspecting forest and dwarf’s home theme) for a major princess like Snow White.
Matt says
This is horrible news!!! Artist Point was one of our favorite restaurants on property. Truly no other “Pacific North” style of food anywhere else. Shocked and saddened by this decision.
Justin says
This is a deluxe hotel that charges upwards of $400+/night and it won’t have a standard, sit-down restaurant? That’s crazy. Whispering Canyon is fun for kids and groups in the “right mood” but it is certainly not a good option for everyone. Mickey’s Backyard BBQ is closing – why they wouldn’t just turn Whispering Canyon into a new version of that, while creating a new signature or nicely themed sit-down experience at AP is beyond me.
Rachel says
On our honeymoon, 20 years ago, my husband and I went to a breakfast at Artist Point that had Winnie the Pooh and friends dressed up in camper’s gear. I think it was a table service/all you care to eat/prix fixe type of meal. From what I remember it was North West themed and really good. I love Snow White, so I would definitely go to Artist Point for this!
Jess NOLA says
Love Artist Point, but it’s always at least half empty when we go. I’m thrilled with this- as long as the mushroom soup is part of the pre fixe! 😉
Penny Thoma says
Sounds wonderful!
Beth says
Wow, I hope this is temporary. Artist Point is one of our favorite restaurants
Diane L. says
We went to AP when it 1st opened. I really don’t remember what I ate, but I do remember it was good. I know people rave about this place, but I guess it wasn’t good enough to go back if we weren’t staying there.
I would probably try it if I could be certain I would meet the Evil Queen! She’s my favorite character!
Tammy Orr says
It’s very interesting to read the stark differences in opinions about this! I haven’t dined there yet, but I thought it’s a fabulous idea & it definitely draws me there!!
Nancy says
We will be at Disney right after Thanksgiving . Would love to experience this
Cindy says
Will it be character dining at every meal? Just breakfast?
Melissa says
Very disappointed! We loved AP and thought it was a lovely, quiet respite from the parks and the hectic, but enjoyable Whispering Canyon. I’d have preferred they left AP as fine dining and changed WC to a character meal. We really, really don’t like character meals anywhere! Another nice restaurant bites the dust…. [Sigh]
Joan says
This is very disappointing. I agree with whomever said there are other options on site to have a character dinner. We are now considering Universal. So very sad. We went every year to Artist Point.
Mark says
We enjoyed Artist Point several times and always had good experiences. Sorry to see it go. I doubt we’ll go there for a character meal.
Barbra says
NOT so excited about this change to Artist Point. This is our “home” resort and I always love the low key feel when you stay here! It is an oasis from the rest of Disney. Especially when dining at AP, it’s a restaurant for special occasions. This will definitely change the ambiance of this wonderful Lodge and not necessarily for the better.
Joanne says
Sorry to hear it is becoming another prix fixe character meal. We have enjoyed this restaurant several times over the years. We would not even consider it if the dinner is now character dining.
Jacqui says
I am disappointed. I love the murals on the walls, I love the food and it is one of the few quiet restaurants on property
Stephanie Rayfield says
Sounds exciting! The naysayers should use their imagination. Dwarfs in a forest near a Wilderness Lodge is brilliant. Do I enjoy rowdy children… no but what do I expect at a place marketed to them? I suspect another fine restaurant may be built outside near the beautiful waters edge of Cooper Creek. Stayed tuned… Disney never fails us. And, so we bought four DVC locations.
Jodie says
Wow disappointing- AP is our absolute favorite restaurant at Disney. Do they really need another character dining? I remember eating there with Chip & Dale (I still have pics) over 30 years ago. May not have been AP back then. Hopefully it won’t be for every meal…
maria says
Going in April, Cannot wait to have a meal with these characters.
EJ says
I love Snow White, she’s one of my favorite princesses…the one who started the princesses. But what about he mushroom soup and buffalo steaks ?
Terri barnstead says
We will be in disney the end of November. Hope to get a reservation!
Joan says
With all the kid-friendly options, with no adult oriented ones, it will be a downgrade. I wonder if the status will fall from deluxe to moderate?
JJ R says
Wow…really disappointing news. Artist Point has been up and down quality-wise over the years, but in the last few years it’s been absolutely fantastic. We eat at a signature every night while we’re on property and Artist Point has been a staple. We avoid character dining as much as possible so we will very likely not be coming back here.
Really sad. My 2nd favorite restaurant on property.
The overt Disney magic is fun, but sometimes you just want a really high quality, relaxing meal on property. This was one of the best spots for that.
Joan says
JJ R summed it nicely.
David says
When my wife and I lived in FL we made a point of going to AP every year when they had the Copper River salmon on the menu. This is a sad change. I agree with several other comments questioning whether they really need another character dining experience, particularly at the expense of one of the best restaurants on property.
Penny says
Lest we forget, this is Walt Disney World. If you don’l like characters, I suggest you dine at Disney Springs. The many children who stay at this resort and adults as well, are there for alot more than”fine dining”.
Cathy says
My husband and I have already made reservations for the end of January. Really looking forward to meeting the characters.
