Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
are located in the Epcot resort area, just a short walk or boat ride from the International Gateway at Epcot and a short boat ride to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! And, they’re two of our favorite Deluxe Hotels.
Disney’s Yacht Club, Beach Club and Beach Club Villas Resorts share many of the same amenities including the sand bottom Stormalong Bay mega-pool that features a giant water slide and “lazy river”, health club, hair salon, full service marina, Albatross Treasure Cruise, bike rentals, arcade, tennis, gym, movies under the stars, a playground and a jogging path. They are also within close proximity to dining, shopping and entertainment at Disney’s BoardWalk.
While the Yacht and Beach Club share multiple facilities, when you explore these side-by-side Disney resorts, you will discover they are very different.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
is reminiscent of an early 20th century Atlantic seaside resort. The décor suggests “casual elegance,” featuring rooms sprinkled with wicker, seashells, sandcastles, and painted beach scenes. The resort’s pastel color palette of peach, seafoam green, pale yellow, and white reminds us of a box of saltwater taffy.
Landscaping at the Beach Club includes sand dunes with sea grass and a quiet beach dotted with lounge chairs. The beach is perfect for a game of beach volleyball or simply steal away to a secluded spot to escape with a book.
Guests can enjoy the nightly New England Style Clam bake at Cape May Café (or the super fun character breakfast) and enjoy double scoop cone — or a Kitchen Sink — from Beaches and Cream.
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
At the Yacht Club, the mood is more formal. The lobby features antique globes and maps, ship wheels, patriotic icons and brass lamps to create a nautical theme. The maritime color palette is rich in deep tones including navy, burgundy, red, and gold.
Outside, there’s a definite nautical vibe thanks to the marina full of boats and seagulls. Throughout the day you’ll hear the horns from the Friendship Boats as they take guests to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s BoardWalk.
If all this nautical inspiration at the Yacht Club has you craving a lobster roll, head over to Ale & Compass for lunch or dinner. There’s also a new breakfast buffet available for guests at Ale & Compass — in case you miss that buffet at the former Captain’s Grill.
Guests can enjoy a steak dinner at the Signature Dining restaurant, The Yachtsman Steakhouse, or try the more relaxed Crew’s Cup Lounge located next door. The Crew’s Cup Lounge has a limited “pub” menu but the atmosphere, quality, and flavors make this a hidden gem.
Evenings at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts were made for strolling along the waterfront, maybe even heading over to Disney’s BoardWalk. And, at 9:00 PM, you might even catch a glimpse of Illuminations over the tree tops.
