Disney California Adventure Park’s Paradise Garden Grill
is always game for a food celebration, and Halloween Time is no exception! As was the case for Pixar Fest and last year’s Dia de los Muertos, the menu here is an ode to Coco and features flavors from south of the border!
The quick service spot’s Halloween Time and Dia de los Muertos contributions for this year are colorful and packed with flavor. And since life is short, let’s take a look at dessert first — and our Disneyland correspondent Heather’s (hola, @DiningInDisney) favorite Halloween Time treat so far!
The “Coco” Cake is beautiful with layers of pink and orange cake (vanilla flavored) and fabulously bright piping details! But wait until you hear about that frosting and filling!
Yup, it’s Cream Cheese Frosting on the exterior of the cake. And those two layers in the middle? Cinnamon Churro Mousse!
Totally stinkin’ awesome CHURRO FILLING! It’s sweet and full of cinnamon flavor. The texture is smooth and works really well with the cake.
Even the back of this cake has gorgeous, cakey detail! The base has a sprinkling of festive gold-dusted white chocolate curls!
The Coco Cake is topped with a white chocolate Dia de los Muertos-style mask. So pretty! And if Heather says this is her favorite of the Halloween Time treats so far — y’all, that’s saying something!
The Coco Conchita is a cool treat — essentially a sweet bread filled with dulce de leche. Hello, sweetness! The bun is sculpted in a shell pattern.
But check out that filling! It’s thick, rich, and designed to satisfy the sweetest tooth you’ve got! Heather says this is delicious, but we think we should try one or two just to be sure. 😉
As for the savory options, the Burrito de Pollo from the regular menu is a winner, winner, chicken dinner! Covered in salsa verde and served with rice and beans, this is a filling meal (big enough to share, if you’re tucking into the some sweets after!).
No skimping on the burrito filling of chicken, black beans, and gold rice!
Paradise Garden Grill is such a great spot to grab a quick lunch or dinner in California Adventure Park, and the fact that they are constantly winning the special celebration food game is the icing on the cake!
