It seems that PizzeRizzo — the Counter Service pizza spot in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios — will be moving to seasonal operations soon.
Up until this morning, the Disney World website displayed operating hours for PizzeRizzo nearly through the end of the month, similar to the other Counter Service locations in Hollywood Studios like ABC Commissary. However, now PizzeRizzo is displaying “No times available” starting Sunday, October 21st.
The fact that the page still exists, though, indicates that “The City’s Top Rated Pizza” may be open on a seasonal basis (though no future hours are posted at this time).
Operating hours do appear through Saturday, October 20th, primarily from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, so if you’d like to stop in to see Rizzo’s place and check out the Muppets-themed space, seems like this week and next is the time to do so until further notice!

It would be such a shame for the place to close permanently. The food is meh, but the theming is so much fun.

It didn’t have to be like this. Here was an opportunity to open a quality QS pizza restaurant in Hollywood Studios. The Studios were in need a good quality quick service venue too. Instead of that, we had a makeover where they concentrated on theming and not the food. Thick based pizzas produce on an industrial scale made Rizzo’s no better that Pizza Planet. That is where Disney went wrong I believe.

They really just do not get what a treasure they have with the Muppets.

This makes me so sad! We eat here every time. Mostly because the second floor is such a great respite from the crowds and noise. I hope it’s open during our next visit, but since we don’t visit when the other “seasonal” restaurants are typically open, I doubt it.

Honestly Disney needs to take a break from creating new dole whip flavors and building upscale bars and learn how to make an edible pizza. And also someone needs to explain to them that, although star wars and marvel are great, the muppets are a worthwhile IP to make money off of, if done properly!

This makes me both sad and angry at the same time. The only other indoor quick service restaurant is ABC Commissary and we (my mom and I) do not take to eating outside, especially when it was as hot as it was on our last visit to WDW (Sept. 25-Oct. 4 this year). I really hope they do something about this, because it’s already crowded at ABC Comissary as it is, and now with PizzeRizzo’s going seasonal it’s going to be even MORE crowded than before. And let me say that my mom has an ECV and it’s not easy for her to find a table in ABC Commissary. They need to make it a bit bigger than what it currently is, and add more seating.

Food options are already limited at this park as it is. This is a fun place to grab a bite and take a rest. Love the theming. This is one of the few Indoor QS options. I hope it is open my next trip. This one leaves me scratching my head. It was packed my last trip. I had written down yesterday for my HS Park day pre-planning. Thanks for heads up.

ABC is not the only indoor quick serve. The backstage lot is inside and is pretty big and good place to take a break from the heat. It is over by Star Wars.

Let’s be honest, the pizza is terrible (the same as Pizza Planet), it closed ridiculously early (like 4PM) and the theming makes no sense. The Muppets are nowhere near as popular as they were 30+ years ago and the rats weren’t original Muppet characters. They came along later. If they were going to make a Muppets restaurant, Swedish Chef should’ve been the base character and have it as a buffet Muppet character dining experience. Kermit, Miss Piggie, Fozzie, etc.
