We have been on the lookout for new, higher prices at many restaurants and snack stands around the parks since we first spotted the increases earlier this month. Our latest visit to the Magic Kingdom had us collecting a few new prices for you.
That’s right, add a few more dollars to your wallet or on your gift cards (we found Christmas themed ones are now available!) to eat at the following Magic Kingdom locations.
Crystal Palace Price Increase
There were price increases across the board at the Crystal Palace. Breakfast for the kiddos is now $23, and lunch and dinner are $31, up from $20 and $28 respectively. For adults, Breakfast is now $38, with lunch and dinner at $52, both up from $34 and $47 respectively. Check out our latest review of this location, and let us know if you think this is worth the higher price.
Liberty Tree Tavern Price Increase
The Liberty Tree Tavern has increased the pricing on their all-you-care-to-enjoy meals. You’ll now find all meals are $21 for kiddos and $38 for adults, up from $20 and $36 previously.
Be Our Guest Restaurant Price Increase
Another location we recently visited and reviewed is Be Our Guest Restaurant. In addition to serving alcohol, the breakfast price was hiked $3. To dine in the Beast’s Castle for the Three-Course Prix-Fixe Dinner, you’ll now pay $36 for kiddos and $60 for adults, up from $35 and $55 respectively.
Big Top Treats Price Increase
Lastly, we found some additions — and price increases — at Big Top Treats in Fanstasyland.
They have added more Goofy’s Glaciers machines to their line-up. Current flavors are now Cherry, Blue Raspberry, Lime, and Lemonade — but you will have to pay more for those Glaciers.
The Glaciers are now $4.99 in a Standard Cup (previously $4.79), $9.69 with a souvenir cup (previously $8.99), and $11.69 with an Olaf Cup (previously $10.99).
As always, as we find new pricing around the parks and resorts we’ll be sure to share that with you.

This is highway robbery!

So, with all these massive price increases across the board under the claim they want to pay their employees better, a minimum of $15/hr (plus benefits, I hope) … are we still expected to supplement their pay with tipping servers, hotel staff, parking attendants, etc????
Perhaps Disney should inform guests that tipping is no longer necessary or expected as the company is sharing their profits not only with top management but also appropriately with the working staff as well.
Tammy Orr says
Tom, can you tell us WHY? The real reason for all of this?
John W. Ford says
I agree with Tammy. Tell us why. What is the real reason that everything is suddenly going up in price. I’ve been reading the blog for some time and find all these increases very upsetting. My wife and I are seniors on a fixed income and this will slow down if not stop our trips WDW. We just won’t be able to afford it.
However, we have a trip planned for this January with our daughter, son in law, and grandchildren. Will our dining plan still be good against the price hikes?
Minnie says
I’m so disappointed with all the price increases !! I fear the worst with the new ticket prices!!!

We’ve been going to Disney World for over 40 years and mostly staying at Disney moderate resorts. We can’t believe how tremendously expensive it has now become, and yet it seems that the price increases continue almost daily.
It’s become sad to see that many young families will never be able to afford a trip there…..I doubt that Walt Disney ever had that in mind.

Me thinks Star Wars Land be over budget.

I noticed at the plaza ice cream parlor almost every item went up $1 🙁

We have been coming to Disney since 1971. We have eaten at most all the restaurants. We cannot afford the top scale restaurants and have had to cut back greatly. We have scaled down our dining, eating at the fast food places, and bite the bullet on those price increases. We miss the top notch places, will be cancelling our Tables in Wonderland this time and will bring sandwiches for an occasional lunch to make up for the increases. We always see the restaurants full, so someone must be paying the increases or Disney would not continue to raise everything. We were disappointed in Mama Melrose, Le Cellier, and Be our Guest. Thank you for all the updates.
Tasha says
We bought the regular dining plan for our trip in December. Will these price changes impact what is and isn’t a snack credit etc? I hope the list of eligible items on the dining plan didn’t change. Thanks!
Kim says
Good that Disney now has a small fridge in almost every room on property. With dining prices zooming out of control we’ll all need to hit up the local deli and produce departments to make sandwiches in our rooms. SMT
DFB Sarah says
Tasha, so far we haven’t seen any changes to snack credit eligibility. But we’re watching and will report if we see anything!
DFB Sarah says
John, we expect you’ll be fine with the dining plan. So far we haven’t seen any changes in eligibility.

The fact that people are blaming this on Cast members making $15/hr is infuriating to me. They will not be making $15 until 2021! And in 2021, $15/hr will still BARELY be a livable wage, if it is at all. Rent in Orlando is ridiculous. Most CMs live with multiple roommates to be able to afford rent, and a ton of them have to work multiple jobs just to get by. Please don’t stop tipping your hard working employees because you think that they’re “sharing their profits.” They’re really not.
Richard says
We would love to hear from Disney what these massive increases are for if it is not to share with employees and allow them to benifit from the company’s success.
Seems no benifit to customers or cast members … hummmm, then who and why?
Patricia C says
I mean, is Disney ever going to explain the need for these increases?? Especially on drinks! They have a GIANT profit margin there already. Our family has been going to Disney since I was born — actually, even longer than that, as my parents went there for their honeymoon….we’ve never had to cut back on our vacation spending (thankfully) until now, but luckily we’ve been around long enough to have experienced nearly everything WDW has to offer in terms of food. I can’t imagine how difficult it is for families to come to WDW for the first time nowadays given the cost. It’s heartbreaking! We were never a “well to do” family – totally blue collar. But we were always able to afford a trip to WDW. If we tried to do that now, we probably could go once or twice in our lifetime. Such a shame.
Lisa says
Thank you for keeping us up to date on the price increases.
Marie says
Richard, your guess is as good as ours. I’ve seen so many of my friends lose their jobs and hours as Disney does cuts across the board. They’ve lessened their cast members’ holiday benefits (like comp tickets) this year too. I’m not sure where all this money is going but believe me, It’s not all going to CMs. They did get a $0.50 raise, but that basically means now CMs can maybe not have to live in their cars and can pay rent on time.
Maybe it’s Star Wars, Fox, the sky liner… I have NO clue, but it’s making everyone unhappy.
