Why ??????

Look at the overhead! Do i like paying more? No. Will i pay it? Yes. $319 for me is still a Bargain for what we get. Want to see orice increases? If we get a governor in November who wants to raise the minimum wage to $15, just watch then.
Mary Ann says
It appears the Silver Seasonal has gone up the most… $40.00. That seems unfair, since the other passes have only gone up $20 or less? What is that all about?
Lucille R Gannon says
If I am reading this correctly, if you become an Annual Passholder you no longer have to pay for park tickets?!?!!? AJ is this correct?
And they took away A LOT of extras 🙁 no more discounts on MNSSHP and MCMCP, the 10% discount on Alamo + a lot more.
Sad.
Laurie Gilmore says
What is the renewal for platinum pass?
Edward Richardson says
With prices like this my days at Disney world are done. My family can not continue to pay these increased prices from passes to food to rooms. It’s absolutely insane. The top management of Disney don’t care. All they are interested in is the bottom line. It’s a shame!
Darlynne says
Just YESTERDAY I talked at length with annual pass customer service and was told emphatically that APs were NOT going up in 2018. Wow. Just wow.
Mark says
The price increases are a real deterrent for me and my family. We live in Missouri and have been coming to Disney since my daughter was 7. We have had the greatest times and tons of memories. I thought that was what Disney was all about and now I’m thinking it’s only about the money! That makes me extremely sad. Doubt Walt would approve!
AJ says
Lucille — If you’re an Annual Passholder, that means you have a park ticket for the whole year. That’s your Annual Pass. I’m guessing the hard ticket event discounts and Alamo discounts may still be included. There are dozens of discounts associated with Annual Passes and they’re not listing them all here, I don’t think.
Lisa R says
We are very fortunate to have the ability to purchase the DVC passes which I still feel are a good deal even with the increase. We just activated our Gold DVC pass last week during our stay and if that was the only stay we did in the year it is still worth it. We went to the parks (and park hopped) for 6 days, parked at HS, EPCOT and AK, and got 20% discounts on merchandise. With just the 6 days alone it works out to $98 a day. We are planning another visit next year which will also increase the value.
I know that no one likes to see price increases but most businesses do increase their prices annually.

This is the sign of greed for Disney and their corrupt CEO’s, tell them to take a pay decrease,How much more are you going to gouge the public will cause people to stop buying or go seeing any of your movies, cut trips to Disney World and Land which they should send you back a message and stop watching ABC TV at all since you bought them out to ,plus George Lucas, Marvel and many others ,You are just a corporate Giant,Sad to see Disney go this low and i bet Walt is turning in his grave what you have done to the people who made you some day will will get a heart for the Average customer not the rich and elite
Nancy G says
Will be selling our DVC this year…we pay $3,600 in dues and to pay $609 each for a annual pass….that is a very nice vacation to Europe every year….too much is changing and not for the better…
Jay says
Well, as a gold pass holder for myself and my wife, that means we’ll pay $40 per year. Since I pay monthly, that means I’ll pay $3.33 a month more than I pay now. I won’t even notice the difference. For a Florida resident who goes for a few days a couple of times a year, this is still a deal. We’ll go 5 times this year for a total of 21 days. If we do the same next year, that comes out to $29 a day for a park hopper equivalent ticket. Even if I bought into the Platinum, it’d still be less than $36 a day. This all seems like a good deal to me. Especially when Disney lets me pay it over the course of the year in interest free monthly payments. Of course, if you go less, it’s less of a deal, but then probably the annual isn’t for you anyway.
Kathy says
Our first trip to disney was when my daughter was 11. She is now 50. We then went every year with my daughter and our grandchildren every year from age 2 to 20. We had also purchased the Disney time share, which at the time of the purchase was a great deal. Unfortunately with the constant increases in tickets, food etc, it has really become cost prohibitive. It is very sad. We were hoping to do a trip this coming year but for five people it would be ridiculously expensive and at the cost of that one trip we could probably manage two vacations elsewhere. Very disappointed since we all love Disney. Somehow I doubt that this would have been what Walt Disney intended
DFB Sarah says
Jay, thanks for sharing! Glad to hear that the numbers work out well for you! Enjoy your trips this year!
DFB Sarah says
Laurie, we haven’t seen this yet. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for it!
Debbie E says
Any news on the Charter Annual Passholder rates? I am a former cast member & have had an annual pass since it’s inception. I’m sure there aren’t too many of us left. But my mother and I both have Charter Annual Passes and wondered about them.
Richard says
We have been DVC owners since 1993, bought Old Key West, Bay Lake and the Polynesian… 2019 may be the first time we will not be renewing our annual passes. The significant price increases on virtually EVERYTHING has us reconsidering. I suspect DVC sales will drop as people will quickly realize that multi visits a year is simply unaffordable. What is the update on Tables in Wonderland?
Barbara says
Sorry to see the price increases, but I’m not surprised; Disney typically raises prices every year. Annual passes have never worked for us. We are DVC members, but we pool our points and go only every other year. Besides, as our kids have aged, we’ve changed our approach to WDW. We are not commandos marching from here to there all day and night. Instead, we buy tickets for only a handful of days for our trip. The rest of the time, we treat the resort like a resort; we sit by the pool, get up late, enjoy some dining, browse Disney Springs, etc. We shop for groceries offsite and pair that with a long browsing trip to the bookstore, which we never have time to do at home. Last time, we even found an offsite fitness center with a 25-meter pool where we could train several times for a very reasonable price. All those things have helped make WDW vacations not necessarily cheap, but definitely more affordable.
DFB Sarah says
Debbie, we haven’t heard anything about the Charter Annual Passes, but we’ll keep an eye on this.
Arlene says
To Barbara – I love your comments about other things that can be done on vacation while in Disney World without going to the parks every day. Great tips! Thank you! Unlike so many other comments I’ve read from those who like to toot their own horn and act as if everyone else is beneath them because that “they” are annual passholders or “they” are DVC members. Well here’s a flash – the only place that gets you any status due to that is Disney World. There’s a big world out there with many places to visit and your annual pass and DVC membership that you like to brag about so much will not get you there. While the Disney vacation club does offer many other benefits for travel to other places, it’s quite apalling to read the comments from people who like to flaunt their status at Disney as if they are kings and queens of the world. Well you’re not. You are simply annual pass holders and Disney vacation club members. Once you are in Disney World it really doesn’t matter what your status is. We are all riding the same rides and going to see the same attractions and no one is impressed with anybody else’s status. We are all simply there to have a good time and enjoy ourselves!
Christi Ford says
Although I don’t like the price increase, it would be an easier pill to swallow of Disney were to allow DVC members to make monthly payments like Florida residents. They already allow us to pay the maintenance fees monthly, so why not the annual passes?
Mike says
If only there was a Priceline-level deal app for the rest of us to pick up the DVC points that were immediately “forced to be sold” due to any WDW price increases…
Bellamouse says
How else are they supposed to pay all the Disney workers a “living wage” of $15/hr? Did those that are in favor of a high minimum wage like this think that there would be no increase in any prices as a result?
