Next month, a celebration like no other will take place as the world recognizes the 90th Birthday of Mickey Mouse!
November 18th will officially mark the Main Mouse’s day, but the celebration will start a little early as treats begin to arrive in the Disney Parks around the globe. Because, after all, what’s a birthday party without a little something sweet?
There will be more to come, of course, but today we’ll take a look at two treats made with Mickey in mind! The ABC network’s Good Morning America shared a sneak peek at the Mickey’s 90th Birthday Cupcake coming to the Contemporary Resort’s Contempo Café which will be available from November 16 – 18, 2018 (when the entire Disney World Resort will be marking the occasion)!
This red velvet cake will be filled with chocolate buttercream, and topped with cream cheese frosting and white chocolate Mickey balloons.
And each cupcake will be topped with a mini white chocolate birthday cake!
And Disneyland Paris will be presenting a specialty pastry created in partnership with world-renowned French pastry chef Pierre Hermé (according to Disney, Chef Pâtissier Pierre Hermé has been named the “Picasso of Patisserie” by Vogue Magazine).
The “Mickey Zest Party” is a play on a classic lemon meringue tart with a Mickey-shaped shortbread base. Lemon filling with preserved lemon zest and pieces of lime-flavored meringue will be complemented by two chocolate circles of dark chocolate and strawberry puree.
Guests at Disneyland Paris will be able to find the Mickey Zest Party at Walt’s – An American Restaurant in Disneyland Park and at California Grill in the Disneyland Hotel from November 17th through January 6th.
We can’t wait to find out what other treats are in store for the Birthday Mouse as the celebration approaches!

The birthday cake cupcake is adorable, but I’m sure it’s very labor intensive. I guess that’s why it’s only available for such a short time.

Sooo cute! A little bummed we arrive on the 19th and will miss MIckey’s celebration!

We arrive 5 days after Mickeys 90th birthday and I expected there would be special eats, treats, and merch. I hope everything is not gone only a few days into his birthday celebration. That would be such a shame. I would be very disappointed. They advertised a year long celebration. I hope that’s the case here.
