What if a member of your group gets sick? What if you lose something? We’re discussing all those scenarios — and more — in our latest DFB YouTube video!

I’d love advice on technical difficulties. I just got back Sunday from a short trip. It was fun, but the techy stuff was a disaster. They didn’t have our magic bands even though I’d ordered them 3 month earlier. Then my sister’s band didn’t link up right, so we got it fixed at the concierge. Somehow after that MY magic band never worked again (except for fastpasses, thankfully). I couldn’t buy anything with it, and every time we tried to enter a park I had to go to guest services. On top of all of that, the cast member at Epcot told me this was somehow all my fault. We had gotten to the park an hour before opening, and due to these issues throngs of people ended up ahead of us. When I asked about a fastpass to make up for the lost time, she said “no” because it was still early. I have planned dozens of WDW trips and know what I’m doing. I appreciate that the system is big, and sometimes things just go wrong. I don’t appreciate being blamed with no attempt to make up for the lost time created by the issues. As you can probably tell, I’m really sad and disappointed about the whole situation. This is not the level of service I have come to expect from Disney.

Leslie, that sounds awful! We hear and see reports about MagicBand issues with unfortunate regularity, and it seems like the problems aren’t going away even though the MagicBands are far from new technology by now. It doesn’t help with your trip, but it might make you feel better to try to speak to someone at Disney about the service you received. I hope you still made some special memories!

The Lost and Found group at WDW are awesome! Nowhere else have I ever seen such effort to reunite one with their item. I have had multiple encounters with them. The best was when I lost a gold hoop earring on R&R coaster. I was really bummed because it was a pair I was loving at the time. Not expecting a good outcome, I called(then)MGM. It turned out that they had actually found the earring! They were nice enough to let me come retrieve it, even though the park was already closed, so I could avoid it being sent to Central. Only at Disney!

A couple of years ago, my daughter left her autograph book on the seat after we rode Haunted Mansion. We did not notice until we had left the area. We went back and told the cast member at the entrance and he explained that they would do all they could and took our phone numbers. A couple of hours later we had a call that the book was found and as a bonus it was signed by the cast member at the front.
