What bad taste. I know that Kate Spade had sold her company – but it light of her suicide, these seem trite and sad.

So are you saying Bill that because the founder of the company lost her battle with mental illness the company should no longer continue? That all of the designers and employees of the company should just be out of a job because their founder is no longer at the helm? That logic doesn’t follow.
I love these and am very pleased not only with the price point but with the classic look of them. Cannot wait to get one in December.

No Laurel – I am saying that these specific messages, released so soon after her suicide, seem to be in poor taste.
Clearly, for Kate Spade, these messages didn’t work:
“All you need is a little faith, trust and pixie dust.”
Perhaps in a year or so, the messages wouldn’t seem so crass. But coming so soon after her suicide makes them seem trite.
Of course I don’t think the company should shut down. Only these specific items seem thoughtless to me – and insensitive. She left a daughter who is about 12 or 13-years-old.

On a Kate Spade bag is something that helps a person with a mental illness get through the day. Remembering the joy of Disney and their love of Kate Spade bags meshed into one. Sometimes it doesn’t take much. Kate’s work made people happy, they carried that on after she left when they joined Disney.
The quotes are perfect, the timing is perfect and as someone who has carried a Kate Spade bag since she owned the company I look forward to owning one.

Only recently saw These bags at Disneyland and unfortunately I have the same negative reaction though I love Kate Spade and own many of her beautiful products it struck me odd to put her name on that message given how things did not work out for her and it’s so sad because of course if that’s all it took trust faith and pixie dust maybe she would still be with us . Kate Spade was and will always be an iconic fashion designer an extraordinary person but I think these bags with that message is not appropriate .
