Disney is keeping us busy — and excited for the Skyliner opening in 2019! On each of our visits to Hollywood Studios and Epcot, plus any of the resorts along the Skyliner route, we anxiously check out the progress. Yesterday we checked on the progress of the Skyliner Station at Epcot.
This week we got to see them working on a more artistic aspect of the Skyliner, the art on the station roof.
The Epcot station is at the World Showcase Entrance to the park, the International Gateway, located between the UK and France Pavilions. The concept art shows the artwork on the station, and that is what we see coming to life this week!
We liked what we could see of the artwork, and the colors really stand out on the dark roof. This should be an attractive station that looks like it blends in with the gateway around it as well as the France and the UK pavilions.
The concept art on display on the construction walls is drawing us in and gives a new view of Epcot. We can’t wait to see these gondolas in the sky (plus they are decorated with characters!).
Disney has stated the Skyliner system will open in 2019. As we watch the progress of the stations around the parks and resorts we are hoping for an early 2019 opening since we can’t wait for this new transporation option!

Is there any update on the queueing/disembarking system. The international gateway entrance is already a horrendous bottle neck, and the picture looks like the queue is going to cross the footpath to the Boardwalk area?
Essie says
I’m sooo excited for this new skyliner. I love the concept and by the time I get back to WDW, I’ll probably be staying at one of the skyliner resorts!
DFB Sarah says
Liz, no additional update yet, but we’re checking regularly and will report when we hear anything new!
