There was SO MUCH NEWS coming out of the D23 Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse event that took place this morning that we thought we’d dive into a few individual topics, including one we’re especially excited about: the Star Wars Resort coming to Walt Disney World!
More concept art was revealed by a presentation from Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek for what is to be a completely immersive and unique experience, which will place guests directly into a starship “that comes alive with characters and stories that unfold all around them during their voyage through the galaxy.”
The hotel is still in development (with an opening timeframe yet to be revealed). But there is some information we already know, and much of it is packed into this sentence from Disney: “From the moment you board your launch pod, it’s a fully-immersive, multi-day Star Wars adventure aboard a luxury starship complete with high-end dining, space-view cabins and all of the exciting action you would expect from an authentic Star Wars experience.”
Multi-day experience. High-end dining.
Space-view cabins.
And exciting action! And, of course, we already know that the Resort will be “seamlessly connected” to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which will open in late fall 2019.
Can somebody drop me off there right now, please?!
I can’t be the only one ready to get out of my car and step into my LAUNCH POD, can !? How about you???
Visit our Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge page for more information on Galaxy’s Edge and the Star Wars Resort!
What do you think of the new images of the Star Wars Resort? Please let us know with a comment!

OMG, its going to be sooooo amazing, and so exciting, and so unique, and so crowded, and soooo expensive. BUT, the waiting list and crowd desire will outstrip supply and Disney will get any price they go with. Unlike anything else in the world, so we should be expected to shell out high end money to experience it.

Beyond curious to see the price tag on this bad boy – how it will compare to the highest deluxe resort rates.
