Hello from Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The weather is chilly and the holiday crowds have arrived, but we still have lots of fun updates to share with you this week.
We spotted a new arrival of little green men, found a new holiday dessert, and checked out the Skyliner and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge construction. Come along and take a look at everything new we found at Hollywood Studios this week!
What’s New with Skyliner Construction
Just like we notice every week, construction on the Disney World Skyliner Gondola System is moving right along!
And look how quickly the station is shaping up!
What’s New on Hollywood Boulevard
On a wintry day, a hot drink from The Trolley Car Cafe (Starbucks) is a non-negotiable, right? Now, let’s go check out the park!
If you’ve been waiting on a new spaceship full of Toy Story Santa Alien popcorn buckets to arrive, you’re in luck! These cuties were back in stock at popcorn carts along Hollywood Boulevard. Each Alien Santa is $25, and a refill is $2.
Is Mickey’s favorite pup more your style? Pluto popcorn buckets are still available, too! These are $15.50 each and refills are also $2.
Over in front of the Chinese Theater, we noticed a few changes with the window displays.
Once upon a time, these window displays included TCM signage with classic movie facts.
Today, though, we noticed that the signage is gone. (We miss you, Great Movie Ride!)
What’s New on Sunset Boulevard and Echo Lake
Over on Sunset Boulevard, Sunshine Day Cafe was closed during our visit (shocker).
And at Echo Lake isn’t Gertie adorable in her Christmas gear!?
Recognize this? It’s the construction next to Tatooine Traders!
We can’t quite tell what this going to be yet (we’re hearing it’s a DVC kiosk…), but you can count on Disney Food Blog to keep you posted!
At the nearby Backlot Express, the Kylo Ren cupcake is still available, but the BB-9E cupcake is not currently on the menu. Their Flurry of Fun holiday selections, including the Chocolate Chestnut Pinecone, Frozen Hot Chocolate, and Olaf Cupcake are still available, too.
What’s New on Commissary Lane
New
holiday dessert, anyone? We spotted this Chocolate and Marshmallow Verrine at ABC Commissary, and we need it. How cute is that Goofy decoration!?
Need it, too? You can get your own for $4.99!
What’s New in the Animation Courtyard
Just like last week, there’s still construction going on in the Animation Courtyard.
This construction is taking place behind the Chinese Theater, back near the Joffrey’s stand closest to the entrance to Toy Story Land.
Could this have something to do with Minnie and Mickey’s Runaway Railway? We’re not sure yet, but we’ll keep you posted!
What’s New in Toy Story Land
The crowds were out in full force today to make the most of this cool, sunny day in Andy’s Backyard.
The line for Slinky Dog Dash was up to 95 minutes.
What’s New with Galaxy’s Edge Construction
is exciting all on its own, but we also love being able to see the progress of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge from over near Alien Swirling Saucers.
We can’t wait to be able to experience the finished product right around this time next year!

New Merch Updates in Hollywood Studios
Mickey’s of Hollywood is one of a select few Walt Disney World locations currently testing a personal shopping service for the holidays.
Merchandise for Mary Poppins Returns has arrived at Disney Parks! First, there’s this Mary Poppins Signature Barbie.
There are also Funko Pops for both Mary herself and…
…Jack the Lamplighter!
And yes, you can get your very own version of Mary’s iconic carpet bag.
There’s also a Mary Poppins tee.
In the market for something a little more edgy? You might like this new Rock’n Rollercoaster t-shirt. (Yes, Mickey is wearing leopard print pants.)
This Toy Story Squad Leader shirt is cute, too!
And, even though Walt Disney World travelers have a whole ‘nother year to wait until Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens, initial merch is still available NOW! (This has been around for a while, but now it’s in a permanent location!)
So far, the collection features a hat and t-shirts.
And that’s everything new we spotted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this week!

The little green men from Toy Story are so cute, but I’d go for the Pluto popcorn buckets. I guess I’m a traditionalist. I’m very excited about the new Mickey & Minnie ride because I love my Mickey but I will def miss the great movie ride.
