The Most Wonderful Time of the Year in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is still very much in full swing!
But while the seasonal celebration continues, plenty of day-to-day updates continue for the Citizens of Main Street, U.S.A. and all the lands beyond.
So join us for a Grand Circle Tour around the Magic Kingdom… and our first stop is the Main Street, U.S.A. Train Station! ALL ABOARD…
Main Street, U.S.A.
… or not so much 😉 .
As you may be aware, the Walt Disney World Railroad is not carrying guests at the moment, in order to accommodate construction for the future TRON attraction in Tomorrowland.
BUT, this does present a unique opportunity for guests, nonetheless.
You see, one of the steam trains (the Lilly Belle, on our visit), is parked at the Main Street station, and guests are invited to get an up-close look and are welcome to take photos!
And you can still find some Walt Disney World Railroad merchandise in the meantime while we look forward to hearing that train whistle again!
Uptown Jewelers is our next stop on Main Street, and all sorts of new goodies have arrived here recently. You can see all of these in more detail by clicking here, including these new Dooney and Bourke bags featuring Mickey and Minnie taking on Magic Kingdom attractions.
The Loungefly Mickey Mouse Club Purse provides some sparkle with those ears!
A Mary Poppins Carpet Bag purse has also hit the scene.
And the new purses are complete with the Enchanted Tiki Room purse.
You can see closeups of the Mickey Sketch Dress by clicking here, too.
Down the ol’ Main Street at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, you can still pick up the Minnie Kitchen Sink that made its debut on Mickey’s 90th Birthday celebration.
We’re hoping this means they’ll be around as the celebration continues well into next year!
And now, let’s move from the past right into the (retro) future…
Tomorrowland
We can’t promise that it will still be around on your next visit, as it tends to come and go, but we did spot the return of the Purple Wall Cotton Candy Cart at… well, at the Purple Wall 😉 .
You may be happy to learn that the Cream Cheese Pretzels are back at The Lunching Pad (where they were replaced for a few months by the Incredibles-themed Mask Pretzel).
Naturally, the construction of the TRON attraction affects its future home of Tomorrowland, too, where the pathway between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland that ran from Space Mountain along the back of the Tomorrowland Speedway to the Fantasyland Train Station and the Barnstormer is now closed off to guests.
As mentioned, the celebration of Mickey’s 90th goes on, and Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies is serving a Special Mickey Hot Cocoa for the occasion.
Essentially, it’s a regular hot cocoa topped with one of those adorable, gigantic Mickey marshmallows that typically comes with the currently featured milkshake, like this.
I’ll take that for my cocoa over those mini marshmallows any day!
You’ll also find some new gear over at Mickey’s Star Traders.
Fantasyland
Bonjour from Bonjour Village Gifts!
This Beauty and the Beast-themed merchandise shop has changed emphasis a bit.
While there are still Beauty and the Beast-themed items (but, of course!), you’ll also currently find Christmas merchandise that you’ll also find in areas all around Disney World.
You’ll even recognize more Disney Princesses represented around the shop, and we’ll be curious to see if this remains the case after the holidays.
The Pretzel Scavenger Hunt continues in Fantasyland, where we spotted the savory Pepper Jack Pretzel at Cheshire Cafe!
This does tend to get switched here with the Cream Cheese Pretzel, so stay tuned…
Liberty Square
The Liberty Belle Riverboat is very close to sailing the Rivers of America again soon!
She was in testing during our visit, and Cast Members expressed that she should be carrying guests in the near future.
While checking on the status in Liberty Square, it’s impossible to resist a stop at the nearby Memento Mori gift shop, where we spotted this Haunted Mansion tumbler.
Frontierland
The Taco of the Month for December at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is Asian-inspired Beef with soy-lime veggie slaw and wasabi cream.
And there is a tiny change to report at Golden Oak Outpost, where the menu now lists that the Jalapeno Poppers are served with Chipotle Ranch Sauce instead of the original G.O.O. Sauce (a sweet raspberry sauce).
New Merchandise
Before we go, let’s take a look at some new merchandise hitting the shelves in case you’re planning your visit in the near future and start making your list (and checking it twice, as we say at this time of year)!
Are you sweet or are you salty?
And of course that Ride the Rails Grand Circle Tour shirt for the train fans.
And that’s the latest from Magic Kingdom!
We’ll “see ya real soon” from right back here!

Essie says
The train and riverboat are often overlooked attractions, but they are both worth the time they take to ride them. Both allow you to see things that aren’t seen from the areas of the MK.

Any updates on when the train will re-open at Magic Kingdom?
DFB Sarah says
MrsKiwi66, sadly no.
