On the other hand, I LOVE Boatwrights. We always stay at Riverside and have eaten at least once there at each trip since 2001. Service is great, food is great, what is not to love.

Well it has been a few years, but we tried Mama Melrose’s several times, and the food was always too salty. So for us, it is no longer an option. Perhaps it has improved, but we had given it a few chances on the chance that maybe the cook was having a bad day, but, and each time it was too salty.
Now again, it was a while ago, but it is hard to get past initial impressions. Many years ago, when Dixie Landings and Port Orleans were separate resorts (now Riverside and French Quarter respecitively), we tended to prefer Port Orleans . But one year, we couldn’t get into Port Orleans (they were reconstructing the pool, and my daughter wanted to do swimming). We ate at Boatwrights several times, and it was both bad food and poor service. The memory of it still stands out as one of the worst sitdown meals we have had (not just at Disney, one of the worst ever). I’m sure things are better now, but I likely won’t try it again.
I agree with you about Kona Cafe. In our last trip, we liked it so much, that we cancelled other reservations so that we could go back there (as you said, it is easier to get reservations there).
We also agree with you on Yak and Yeti. Good food, and great imagineering.
We live in Massachusetts and while we can get good local seafood, we did like the Cape May seafood buffet at Disney World.
We like Saana. Unfortunately due to the carbs, the bread service isn’t an option for my wife, but the food is good. We now usually stay in the Animal Kingdom Lodge (in the Jambo House section), and for us Saana is often the place to each on the day we are flying back home (assuming we have a later flight).
