at Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Village Resort is an oasis of creative drinks and tiki decor. Truly: grabbing a drink here is always a fun time.
You never really know what’s going to happen around here…
And our Disney pal Daniel (hi, @WanderDisney!) recently visited with Trader Sam and shared his thoughts on some of the bar’s drink options.
The Tropical Snowstorm is listed on the menu’s limited time, seasonsl insert, but Daniel notes that all the drinks on this page are available to order all year. (So long as the bar has the ingredients, you can get one!) The Tropical Snowstorm is Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Coconut Cream, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg!
This one tastes like Christmas, and if you’re anything like us, you know that’s a good thing! We love the warm spices combined with the tropical coconut flavor. Daniel says this one is smooth and easy to drink.
Spiced Island is from the regular menu, and it consists of Knob Creek Select Single Barrel Reserve Bourbon (a Disney exclusive!), St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram, Orgeat (almond), and Pineapple Juice.
It’s served with a wedge of pineapple and a beautiful orchid, so you get the island vibes right away. The spiced comes in with the St. Elizabeth’s Allspice Dram, which is very flavor forward in the drink.
While Daniel mentioned that it’s great to see the exclusive Knob Creek being used in the cocktail, the Spiced Island is a little too sweet. If you like a whiskey sour, you’ll like the Spiced Island.
We love checking in on Trader Sam and his Grog Grotto. It’s a Walt Disney World lounge with such a distinctive vibe that you can not replicate it anywhere else on property. Many thanks to Daniel for sharing his review! Be sure to check out his instagram over at @WanderDisney!

FYI, it’s an orchid in your drink, not a plumeria. Specifically a dendrobium orchid, while plumerias (or frangipani) are considered mildly poisonous.
