It’s time to begin Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration in Magic Kingdom… and YOU’RE INVITED!!
The celebration features special entertainment, snacks, character meet and greets and more… all to honor the 90th Anniversary of Mickey Mouse and his best gal, Minnie Mouse! And the party will continue through September 30, 2019!
Are you ready? Because here we GO!!
Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party
It’s an all-new street party for Mickey and Minnie with the Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party!
Get down with Mickey and Minnie right in front of Cinderella Castle!
More than a few of their favorite friends are joining in the fun, too.
The show features an all-new song, “It’s A Good Time,” as well as performances by live singers performing new arrangements of classic “Mickey Mouse Club” songs!
And to be sure you won’t miss it, you’ll want to check your Times Guide in the park or the My Disney Experience app, with current performances listed for 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, and 5:45 PM.
Mickey and Minnie are donning their new extra-festive Celebration costumes (as seen above) during the new street party!
Mickey and Minnie Meet and Greet
Mickey and Minnie
will also be sporting their celebration outfits in Town Square Theater at their Celebration Meet and Greet, so you can get your pictures (and hugs) with both of them!
While Minnie vacates her regular Magic Kingdom greeting spot at Pete’s Silly Sideshow, Pluto will be greeting there.
Celebration Central
Also in Town Square Theater, you’ll want to visit Celebration Central.
Step inside and sign a guestbook letting Mickey and Minnie know what a blast you had at their celebration and wishing them many more happy Ears… I mean, YEARS!
Music for Mickey and Minnie
Throughout the celebration, you’ll hear songs that honor Mickey and Minnie performed by the Dapper Dans on Main Street, U.S.A.
And you may hear a celebratory tune or two when stopping by Casey’s Corner to listen to the piano player.
Surprise Celebration Snacks and Souvenirs
The word “surprise” isn’t just for Mickey and Minnie… we will all be surprised throughout the year, too, with different snacks and novelty souvenirs showing up in Magic Kingdom during the celebration!
So there will be more where this comes from, but we wanted to give you a look at some of the specialty snacks that we’re starting to see (and taste!) in Magic Kingdom for the Celebration! Remember, these are — in some cases — limited time items… but they’ll be replaced with new offerings throughout the celebration!
For instance, you can toast the happy couple with the non-alcoholic Now and Forever Slush at Gaston’s Tavern! It will be available through the end of February.
It’s a refreshing frozen sparkling cider.
And it’s topped with a white chocolate strawberry!
And at Comic Ray’s you’ll find some familiar additions from Mickey’s official birthday celebration which took place in November starting with the Mickey Cheeseburger topped with Mickey’s favorite thing…
… a ton of CHEESE!
Macaroni and Cheese, American Cheese, Cheese Sauce, Flaming Hot Cheese Dust and Bacon are completed with a signature Mickey Mouse Bun and served with French Fries.
You’ll also spy this adorable Mickey Souvenir Sipper at Cosmic Ray’s (and at select counter service locations around the park)… while supplies last! [Note that this post has been updated to reflect that we have since seen the Mickey Sipper priced at $15.99.]
Doesn’t this sight just make you happy?!?
He really is the cutest.
And the Minnie Kitchen Sink is still available at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, too, with two scoops of ice cream, whipped cream, your choice of chocolate, caramel, or peanut butter and cherries.
And if you’re dining at The Crystal Palace, Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen, or Tony’s Town Square Restaurant from now through February 15th, you see a special dessert on the menu: True Love Cheesecake!
It’s a strawberry-vanilla marble cheesecake accompanied with raspberry puree, whipped cream, and a Mickey and Minnie chocolate piece.
More Surprises!
Disney has promised even more surprises for guests throughout the celebration. So far, these surprises have come by way of surprise character meet and greets with rarely seen characters in Magic Kingdom’s Town Square! These have included Nick and Judy from Zootopia and Phineas and Ferb. And Chicken Little!
We even caught Remy and Emile from Ratatouille in Town Square, too.
Originally, the characters were not listed in the Character Greetings for the day in the My Disney Experience app.
But — at least for now — that seems to have changed, so be sure to check the app and see if you find any unexpected Disney pals!
Merchandise
You can continue to Celebrate Mickey and Minnie even after your visit by picking up specialty merchandise available throughout the park (and you may spy these items in other parks, too). Here’s just a glimpse at a few items we’ve spotted so far!
It’s time to CELEBRATE!

Valeriev says
Looking forward to the new dance party! Literally writing this as we’re on our flight to Orlando from NY right now. So excited to be back for the festivities and the Epcot Festival of the Arts! (We had to leave NY 2 days early to get ahead of the snow…aww, shucks, more Disney time. ) ????????????
joyce says
the slush is it alcoholic or non alcoholic
everything looks so great
Lisa says
Are they still taking fast passes to meet Mickey at Town Square for the birthday celebration?
Allie Cantalupo says
I am so excited for the party! I feel like I missed all of the fun on their actual birthday. So it really makes me happy that we can celebrate with them all year round!
Sarah says
I was perusing the updated menus on the WDW site today in advance of our March trip and it looks like the beloved 1/2 rotisserie chicken + mashed potatoes + green beans meal has been taken off of the Cosmic Ray’s menu. It’s not even down in the allergy-friendly options anymore. Say it ain’t so! Do you know if this is a permanent menu alteration?
Holi says
What exactly is the Mouse Mouse sipper? I can’t tell!
Thanks!
Stacey says
Thanks for all the info. Can’t wsit to see the new move it shake it
Bobbi says
We are at Disney now and will return to Magic Kingdom on Monday. Let’s celebrate!
DFB Sarah says
Holi, it’s an enclosed cup with a straw in it! In the picture, you can see the light blue straw kind of coming out of the party hat. 🙂
DFB Sarah says
Lisa, yes.
DFB Sarah says
Joyce, the Now and Forever Slush is non-alcoholic. It’s slushy cider.
DFB Sarah says
Valerie V., have a wonder trip! Glad you avoided the snow… and got some extra Disney time!
Not Happy says
So the Mickey Mouse sipper that was supposed to be an exclusive one-day-only special item, that I waited 3 hours in line for and was priced at $25 at Disneyland… is now available at other parks for $14???
They also misled about having Mickey-shaped pizza that day, which I only found out was not true after spending an additional hour in line.
What a waste of a day.
laura says
Is the celebration underway now. Is the Mickey sipper cup available in the magic kingdom?
DFB Sarah says
Laura, yes! The celebration started yesterday!
Laura says
Is the Mickey Sipper Cup Available Now?
Chris says
Are the pins open edition (I.e. not limited release or limited edition where they are already sold out)? We get to WDW on February 2 and I need one!
DFB Sarah says
Chris, the pins are not advertised as Limited Edition, so we’re hoping they’ll be around for a while!
Kathy says
I’d love that new cheese cake ? dessert to be available thru end of February, I arrive on 2/22. Does it ever stick around longer?
DFB Sarah says
Kathy, it’s not unheard of for popular items to stay beyond their official end date, but sadly there’s no guarantee. I’ll cross my fingers for ya!
