If you’re striving to have “no worries for the rest of your days,” Animal Kingdom has the dance party for you!
The brand new Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party kicked off today as part of Walt Disney World’s 19 new and limited time experiences in 2019! Huge thanks to @aleyafromdisney for reporting!
Guests can “take a walk on the wild side” during this festival of fun that features Timon and Rafiki from Disney’s “The Lion King,” along with Terk from “Tarzan.”
Rafiki has NO worries at the Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party!
And even though it feels like just yesterday that we fell in love with Simba and co., The Lion King is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year! (Yeah, we can’t believe it either…).
Timon and Rafiki are leading the fun with their Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party, and they’ve even brought in a Caribbean-style street band to put an island twist on classic Disney songs!
Catch all the family fun at the Discovery Island Stage where, in addition to music and dancing, there are also games for the whole family!
Everybody dance!
And if all this just isn’t enough, look for 3-D photo opps where you can recreate favorite scenes from the movie!
But wait, there’s more!
The Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will awaken in a whole new way to honor “The Lion King.” Starting Memorial Day weekend and appearing nightly through September 30, “stunning projections on the iconic tree will feature music and animation paying tribute to the classic film.”
And don’t forget the snacks! This vibrant Lion King Cupcake returned in early-January, and we expect lots more!
And, as ever, don’t miss Festival of the Lion King!
We can already feel our “problem-free philosophy” helping us get into that Hakuna Matata spirit! And you can, too, through September 30!

Parent of a four year old daughter who LOVES lion king and dancing. Can’t wait for this. Are there showtimes for this? Or is it continuously open? All i see on the wdw site is that’s open 11:30-5:30. How does that work? I’m guessing it’s not a 6-hour show.
