We have already been given some idea as to how technology will be put to use in new and mind-blowing ways when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens in Disneyland on May 31st and Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios on August 29th.
But now you can take a sneak peek at how the Play Disney Parks app will “transform into your galactic datapad — designed to guide you deeper and deeper into an adventure in a galaxy far, far away” after you arrive on the planet Batuu!
Disney has revealed that the Play Disney Parks app will be used in the following ways, functioning as a “vital tool when it comes to living your own Star Wars story!”
- Translate galactic languages—both written and spoken.
- Discover precious cargo and digital goods as you scan objects all around the spaceport—including items hidden inside space-shipping crates and containers.
- Tune into communications sent by the planet’s many residents to uncover stories and secrets throughout the land—and unscramble transmissions being sent from far, far away.
- Use the Play Disney Parks app to hack into the land’s many devices, control panels and droids.
Digital rewards for completing your jobs may include ship schematics, star maps, galactic credits and more! You may “pledge your loyalty to the First Order, support the Resistance, or strike out on your own as a scoundrel.”
Which path do you think you’ll choose in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge?
And remember… even though these features won’t be available immediately, you can download the Play Disney Parks app now.
