It’s officially spring, and Epcot is hoppin’ as the 2019 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival continues! But that’s not the only thing going on in this changing park… We checked out all of the construction, found some new merchandise, spotted some new food, and even more along the way!
We’ll start this week’s visit out in World Showcase where there are two Flower and Garden Festival updates.
What’s New in Epcot’s World Showcase
Remember the Orange Bird sipper cup that was insanely popular at the Flower and Garden Festival’s Citrus Blossom Outdoor Kitchen? Well, this cutie has been sold out, and the menu has been updated to reflect that. We checked with some Cast Members, and they have not been told when the Orange Bird Sipper Cup will be back in stock.
We’ll keep you posted!
Staying with the Flower and Garden Festival, this the first time we have seen the line being temporarily closed for the Artisanal Cotton Candy at the Lotus House Outdoor Kitchen in the China Pavilion. In speaking with a Cast Member we learned that the lines are getting as long as 90 minutes on some days!
The construction continues as you near the International Gateway and France pavilion. We do not know, and no announcements have been made, about the construction at the International Gateway entrance.
You’ll find further construction taking place near the World Traveler gift shop in this area as well.
We do know, of course, that the construction in the France pavilion is paving the way for several upcoming offerings! The France pavilion is getting a new creperie, a Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, and a Ratatouille attraction — Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure between now and 2021.
The Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along is promised to come “soon” and will rotate showings with the Impressions de France film in the pavilion. The Ratatouille attraction — Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opens in 2021. An opening time frame has not been announced for the new creperie; however, the combination table and quick service restaurant will be open in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
A new signature restaurant is coming to the Japan pavilion. This will be in addition to Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining. An opening time frame has not been announced for this new location yet.

Two new nighttime spectaculars are coming to Epcot, with “Epcot Forever” slated for later this year and an as-yet-unnamed show coming in 2020. There is quite a lot of construction going on around and in the World Showcase Lagoon prior to the arrival of the new show.
What’s New in Epcot’s Future World
There’s a “Coming Soon” poster for the new film, Awesome Planet, which was recently announced for The Land Pavilion.
And downstairs in Sunshine Seasons we found a new smoothie — will you be trying the Blueberry Pineapple smoothie? (This may be taking the place of the Strawberry Banana smoothie that is typically available here.)
A brand new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction will open in 2021 with the former Universe of Energy building serving as the queue house for the ride.
The new ride building holds an imposing presence on the Epcot skyline, and it’s bound to be quite a ride when it is complete. Learn more about the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction here.
Be sure to check out the revolutionary ride vehicles for this upcoming attraction!
A new space-themed restaurant is coming to Epcot and will be located between the Mission: Space and Test Track attractions.
The new restaurant will open in 2020. Learn more about the new-space themed restaurant here!
