Disney has announced several new policies that you will want to know for your next trip to a Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort park.
While we’ve already discussed the new Smoking Policy, we’ll take another quick look at it here. But we’ll begin by discussing new limitations on Strollers (including a new Policy banning Stroller Wagons). We’ll also look at new rules surrounding the bringing of loose and dry ice in the parks, as well as when each policy goes into effect.
Stroller Size and Stroller Wagons
Beginning May 1
, Disney is adjusting the guidelines on stroller sizes. It will be required that strollers be no larger than 31″ (79cm) wide and 52″ (132cm) long. In Walt Disney World, guests can already rent a single or double stroller upon arrival, and Disneyland Resort will soon offer a double stroller for rental in addition to the single strollers.
Note that wagons are not allowed in the parks, and also starting May 1, stroller wagons will not be permitted.
Smoking
As we shared previously, effective May 1st, smoking areas will no longer be present in Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort theme parks. This policy will also apply to water parks, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and the Downtown Disney District in California.
Designated smoking areas will be available outside the entrances of the aforementioned areas and at Disney Springs in Florida. Guests who have room or dining reservations at a Disney Resort will also have access to smoking areas at the hotels.
Note that, according to the Walt Disney World website, vaping will also be limited to the designated smoking areas.
Loose and Dry Ice
Effective immediately
(our publishing date is March 28, 2019) loose and dry ice are no longer permitted in the parks.
If you bring a cooler or cooler bag with you, reusable ice packs are recommended instead.

For those complaining about the ice and asking if Disney should ban ice from cups inside the parks. The reason the ice is banned is for security reasons. People can hide things under the ice. Once you’ve been cleared by security and in the parks you can get a cup of ice if you need to, but I’d much rather deal with a cooler pack than ice anyway! Thank goodness the smoking issue is finally taken care of! I hope they are strict! Walking my asthmatic child around Disney is very hard when he has to walk through smokers row. I agree with the strollers as well! You don’t have to rent a Disney stroller. The stroller rental companies in Orlando are awesome! People are whining but all of these changes make the park a safer and happier place. Take your bitterness and your cigs to Universal

Plan on taking my business to Universal. Two smoking areas in the whole park was not hurting anyone. Us smokers have rights too. Disney wants your money and tell you how to live as well. Sea World parks still let you have a smoke in their parks and they are a lot cheaper to get into.

I believe Disney taking out smoking was a bad move , having a smoking section at each end of the parks was a great idea and it worked if people were still complaining of cigarettes ? that’s their fault cause they chosen to walk over there just like Megan did yet she is a smoker as well.
Disney needs to bring back smoking

I love the non smoking in Disney, my son has asthma & the smoke could literally KILL him. Also, my Sister has severe allergies to smoke as well. So THANK YOU DISNEY. Best idea ever

Everyone knows Disney world is the best place for spending a great vacation. But, if anyone goes to Disney World without checking the Disney World new policies, definitely they will face a big problem. Thanks for sharing an amazing and effective post.

Not right not to have a few areas in the park to smoke.
