It’s time once again for a GRAND tradition!
The Grand Floridian Chocolate Easter Eggs are now on display through April 28th in Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort!
We’ll be taking you on a photo tour of the Eggs, but first we want to give a heads up about something NEW this year (in addition to several new Eggs themselves).
THIS YEAR… the Grand Floridian Resort is selling springtime SNACKS to go along with the Egg display!
So, it’s Eggs first, snacks second. Let’s go!
Grand Floridian Easter Eggs
As always, beloved Disney films and characters are the inspiration behind the design of many of the Eggs.
Gather ’round the TV for the latest Kanine Krunchies ad!
The Coco Egg is complete with an ofrenda…
Two films with recent live-action versions are given the spotlight: Mary Poppins and Dumbo.
Where is Donald?
You’ll always spot some truly unexpected themes, like this year’s Atlantis Egg!
Princesses…
… say “Hello” to your Frog Prince!
Classically painted styles are once again featured.
The painted eggs must preserve especially well, because you’ll often spot Eggs from previous years decorated likewise returning among the display.
Tributes to the spring holiday are among the beautiful creations as well.
We wanted to save this one for last… as it so turns out, the woman who designs the annual Grand Floridian Gingerbread House — along with Eggs of yore — is retiring after nearly 30 years. This is Ms. Ellen’s final display piece!!
It features pictures of all her Easter Egg designs from years past! (Can you find a Hidden Mickey at the bottom?)
Now, don’t forget… there are plenty of preserved Eggs from previous years on display again, too, both in the lobby and around the Resort like this one you’ll see at the M. Merchantile shop.
So there are even more than what you’ll see in this post! Check out our Easter Egg Tours from 2018 and 2017 to check them out if you can’t make it to the display yourself this year.
Easter Snacks
New to the display this year is a selection of Easter snacks in the lobby!
Note that the availability of the snacks differs from the display itself, with the display up until the 28th, and the treats available through the 21st, at press time. (We also heard the snacks might be available as late as the 26th, but that is unconfirmed.) On our visit today, the snacks were available from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
The selection includes items like decorated Sugar Cookies and White Chocolate Bunny Pops.
The Grand Egg is a dark chocolate Egg filled with jelly beans!
A classic Easter Hot Cross Bun is among the offerings, and it’s really a great surprise as a fun, yet traditional, treat!
Served warm, the bun is super fresh and sweet with cinnamon and raisins.
The Mickey Whoopie Pie is wonderfully soft and filled with delicious buttercream.
Though it’s available in several colors, the flavors are classic cookie and buttercream, with no additional flavors despite the colors.
The Blondie Carrot is suuuuper rich.
The pleasantly chewy blondie is wrapped in a coating that’s reminiscent of an almond bark — there’s a little more going on there than simply white chocolate.
It’s a great way to eat your “carrots,” while on vacation, so there’s an added bonus here 😉 .
Overall, these tasty treats offer another fun way to celebrate the Easter season at the always lovely Grand Floridian Resort!

How beautiful! Are the snacks included on the dining plan?
Zach Smith says
Hey I’ve seen a few different pictures of the eggs, and in one of them I’ve seen a smaller brown spring inspired looking egg. The problem is that no one posts pictures of it, or explains what kind of egg it’s supposed to be. Is that egg part of the egg display, or is it more of a filler decoration? If it is part of the display it actually looks cool. Then again I have a thing for underdogs. Thanks!
DFB Sarah says
Zach, we saw that lovely egg, too! The pastry chefs have some free reign on decorating the ‘filler’ eggs (non-themed eggs, basically). Pretty nice for a filler, right?
DFB Sarah says
Stacy, if you scroll down the post to the menu, anything with an asterisk on the menu is DDP snack credit eligible. That’s everything on the left side + the white bunny. Hope this helps!

We first saw these fabulous eggs last year and they are absolutely wonderful!!!!
Ace says
Does anyone know what happens to these beautiful Easter eggs after Easter ?
Elizabeth says
I have really enjoyed this post and will share it with my family! Thanks for being our eyes and ears and noses around the parks 🙂
DFB Sarah says
Ace, sorry for the delay responding to your question. Some of the Easter eggs will be saved and used again next year (same at Yacht and Beach Club, where some are saved and even shared with the other resort the following year). We’re not sure what happens to the ones that aren’t saved.
