in Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort has just closed to begin a refurbishment which will also result in an expanded space when it reopens this fall.

But Grand Floridian guests need not face the spring or summer without a Grand Cocktail, as a temporary lounge has been established on the main lobby floor.

It stands directly in front of the Garden View Lounge, where Afternoon Tea is served.

There is seating in the lobby, of course, but guests may sit in the tea room once Afternoon Tea concludes for the day (and can even be seated with assistance if there are empty tables while tea continues).

The temporary Mizner’s menu still features Veuve Clicquot along with wines and beer.

The Florida Manhattan and The Grand Cocktail are listed under the Specialties.

Paper menus, a sitting area that looks like you’re in a scruffy Gasparilla’s and paying $17 + for a drink?! I’m sure they could pop a few tablecloths down and add some tea lights for a bit of ambience. I’m staying at the GFV next month for a week. I won’t be buying a cocktail from the corridor bar.
