Animal Kingdom’s Party for the Planet will take place once again from April 20-22, 2019!
The three-day celebration invites guests to “explore, engage and connect with the magic of nature” through special offerings around the park.
Disneynature Penguins Display and Photo Fun
As the park’s annual Earth Day celebration, the event’s focus on nature begins right at the Oasis (at the park’s entrance) with the Disneynature Penguins display sculpture, created by the nonprofit organization WashedAshore.org.
Special character experiences, entertainment, and unique photo ops will be available, too, with Disney PhotoPass photographers.
Tiffins Talks
Tiffins Talks
will return this year, as this “journey through tales of adventure and cuisine” will take place from 1-3 PM on April 20-22. Tiffins Talk will feature Walt Disney Imagineer and Portfolio Executive Joe Rohde, “the beloved creative force behind the concept, design and buildout of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.”
Joe Rohde will share stories during the 4-course lunch of global dishes, desserts, and specialty drinks at Tiffins.
The price is $199 plus tax and gratuity, and park admission is required but not included. You can make reservations for this experience now by calling (407) WDW-DINE.
Joe Rohde Art Signing
Mombasa Marketplace will host an art signing with Joe Rohde from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on April 20 and 22! Guests will be able to meet Joe Rohde and he will be “on hand to sign his own unique artwork, a commemorative lion print that will be on sale throughout the event while supplies last.”
Note that a wristband will be required to meet Joe Rohde, and more information can be found on the Walt Disney World website.
Merchandise
Mombasa Marketplace in Animal Kingdom’s Africa will also offer an assortment of merchandise celebrating The Lion King.
Items like the smiling Simba mug, Simba youth hat, and the Hakuna Matata Spirit Jersey will be among the offerings.
More Animal Kingdom Fun
Don’t forget, Disney’s focus on animal conservation will play into the Party as well, with plenty of opportunities to meet with animal care experts, animal educators and conservation experts in the park.
Have a WILD time at the Party for the Planet!

Michelle, I don’t see the price of the print anywhere. Maybe check out his Instagram to see if that’s been asked and answered? He’s good about responding to questions people have. Click here for his Instagram.

Hello AJ, I see on disney website they say “A valid Walt Disney World Resort receipt is also required” for Art Signing with Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde. Does that mean I have to stay on property to get an autograph? Thanks!

Hello AJ! I see on Disney website it says “a valid WDW resort receipt is also required” for art signing with Joe Rohde. Does that mean I have to stay on property to be qualified for a wristband? Thanks!
DFB Sarah says
Vera, our understanding is that the receipt is for the artwork you’ll purchase in order to get a bracelet to meet Joe.
