WOW! Our latest visit to Epcot was packed with new finds! We caught up on all of the construction progress in the park, found new menu items, enjoyed some adorable sweet treats, and added more Disney items to our must-buy list!
Take a park tour with us to catch up on all that is new in Epcot!
What’s New in Epcot’s Future World
The Guardians of the Galaxy ride will open in 2021 as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations for Disney World.
The new ride‘s queue will be in the former Universe of Energy building and the ride will operate in a newly constructed (large) ride building.
Between Mission: Space and Test Track you will find construction for a new space-themed restaurant opening in 2020.
Learn more about the new space-themed restaurant coming to Epcot here.
Electric Umbrella has added a new Chicken Prosciutto Sandwich and Cookie Crunch Brownie to their menu. The kids’ menu has some updates as well with the Mac and Cheese and Cheese Flatbread being removed from the menu.
We did notice the Gluten-Friendly Brownie is no longer on the menu. We asked a cast member about this and they reported they are not on the menu, but are still available — just ask for them!
In Fountain View (Starbucks) we found the happiest Mickey Peanut Butter Tart ever. Read our review of the Mickey Peanut Butter Tart here!
We also spotted a new Fruit Tart. (If it has fruit on it, do the calories count?)
The specialty cupcake right now is a Mickey Cupcake. This looks similar to Mickey Cupcake they had here before, but the ingredients are slightly different on this new version.
Sunshine Seasons in the Land Pavilion has updated their shrimp entree option to Cashew Ginger Shrimp with Stir Fry Seasonal Vegetables. This is change from the previously available Stir Fried Shrimp with Celery, Peppers, Water Chestnuts and Cashews.
The specialty entree at Sunshine Seasons is a heart-warming Beef Pot Roast.
What’s New in Epcot’s World Showcase
World Showcase Lagoon is preparing for a new show, Epcot Forever, that debuts on October 1
. Read about IllumiNations ending on September 30, 2019 here. As Epcot prepares there has been a lot of construction activity on the “islands” in and around World Showcase Lagoon.
There are less construction barges in World Showcase Lagoon than there have been over the past couple of months.
Are you looking forward to the new show Epcot Forever or will you miss IllumiNations? Let us know!
Norway’s Kringla Bakeri og Kafe has a picture-perfect new Specialty Lemon Cheesecake — read our review here!
If you prefer cookies over cheesecake, though, Kringla is here for you with a new Salted Pecan Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie that is served warm! Read our review here!
China’s Lotus Blossom Cafe has updated their drinks menu with a new Foo Beer, Tequila, Lime and Lemon Juice Cocktail, and Jasmine Draft Beer. These additions replace the Tiger Draft Beer.
Germany is in on the drink menu updates as well! In Sommerfest there is a new Beer Flight with new options that include Redbridge Gluten Friendly Beer and Warsteiner Dunkel. These options replace the Konig Ludwig Weissbier. If you prefer wine to beer look for the newly added August Kessler Pinot Noir here. Sadly, the jumbo pretzels are no longer available here — but don’t worry, they are still at both of the Bier Carts.
When you stop in the American Adventure pavilion you will see some work is being done around the entrance to the American Adventure building. It looks as though they are working on the ground in the area to each side of the main entrance doors.
Block and Hans Beer Stand in America is offering a new Imagination Pink Lemonade, which looks to be a pink lemonade slushie. If you would like a spiked version of this slushie, go for it with a shot of Old Smoky Blackberry Moonshine!
A new signature restaurant is coming to the Japan Pavilion. No opening time frame has been announced for this new location yet. We will be sure to keep you posted!
This new restaurant will be in addition to Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining. Learn more about the new signature restaurant coming to Japan here.
The International Gateway is home to some construction, and used to provide a good view into the France pavilion’s construction for the new creperie and Ratatouille ride, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, but the addition of tarps and walls has blocked a lot of that view.
No announcements have been made regarding the International Gateway construction. We will be sure to keep you posted on news and announcements.
The transformation of the France pavilion is part of the park-wide transformation of Epcot. Learn more about Epcot’s transformation here.
Canada’s Le Cellier Steakhouse has added Oysters Trudeau, a Lobster Roll Salad, and a BBQ Smoked Half Chicken to their menu. With additions usually comes some removals, so you won’t find the Prince Edward Mussels, Baked Mt Tam and Waldorf Salad, and Maple Chicken Breast on the menu here any longer. Plus, don’t forget their poutine when you are there — the current specialty poutine is an Italian Poutine.
What’s New in Epcot’s Shops and Stores — New Merchandise!
