HI from the Magic Kingdom! Our visit this week found some construction updates, almost-too-cute-to-eat Easter treats, and lots of new merchandise we just have to add to our Disney collection.
In fact, before we even got into the Magic Kingdom we found some updates, so let’s start with…
What’s New at Magic Kingdom’s Entrance
There is a lot of work going on in the area between the Contemporary Resort and Tomorrowland before you even enter the park.
No formal announcements have been made about this construction project, but we’ll be keeping an eye out.
What’s New on Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, U.S.A.
The sweetest stop on Main Street, the Confectionery, has some colorfully iced cupcakes with swirls (and ears!).

Just in time for Easter, how cute are these caramel apples?
You’ll find these at Big Top Treats in Fantasyland as well.
We spotted some outdoor seating at The Plaza Restaurant. These tables usually don’t open until noon (and the Cast Member we spoke with also said they only open then if there are enough servers to cover the extra tables).
Would you prefer to sit indoors or outdoors?
What’s New in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland?
Perhaps this heading should be what’s missing in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland…that’s right, the spitting Camel at The Magic Carpets of Aladdin ride is missing.
We did spot a PhotoPass photographer taking advantage of the dry-photo opp!
Rumor has it that the Camel is just out for a refurb and should be back, so you may still need to watch out for the camel’s old water tricks when he returns!
What’s New in Magic Kingdom’s Fanstasyland?
In addition to the Easter caramel apples at Main Street Confectionery, Big Top Treats is offering some cute Easter cake pops.
The moat around Cinderella Castle is still drained, and there is a lot of work going on in the moat area now.
You will find most of the work going on along the pathway between Liberty Square and Fantasyland.
What’s New in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland
While the moat is drained you can see some work being done as they re-paint the exterior of Cosmic Rays.
The Magic Kingdom is getting a new ride, the Tron Coaster, in 2021. Right now you can see work being done in the area between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland as well as in the area near the Tomorrowland Speedway.
While this work is underway the Tomorrowland Speedway is temporarily closed, and the Walt Disney World Railroad is closed as well with an engine sitting “in residence” at the Main Street Station so guests can get an up-close view and snap some pics.
What’s New in Magic Kingdom’s Shops and Stores — New Merchandise!
Master Gracey and a Knight join previously released plush version of characters from the Haunted Mansion
. We spotted these two spooky characters at Memento Mori gift shop outside the Haunted Mansion.
The celebrations and merchandise for Mickey’s 90th birthday keep coming! Take a look at this newly released Dooney and Bourke collection.
We found this collection in Main Street’s Uptown Jewelers.
This collection features vintage tickets, ads, and posters from Disney Parks around the world starring none other than our favorite Mouse, Mickey!
Plus, you can accessorize with a perfectly matching MagicBand!
Sticking with the vintage feel, how about these vintage-inspired t-shirts celebrating Walt Disney World?
This shirt has a vintage Disney logo on the front and back.
We may buy this one and save it to wear in 2021 for the park’s 50th anniversary celebration.
Just in time for the July 19th release of the live-action version of The Lion King, we spotted this Scar t-shirt.
The Lion King isn’t the only film getting the live-action treatment. In time for the May 24th release of the live-action Aladdin, there’s a new Genie hat in the parks — perfectly complete with a pony tail and earring.
And you can add some Genie magic to your bag, jacket — whatever you want — with this new Genie patch.
Those are all of the updates we found this week! What changes are you most excited about in the parks? Let us know in the comments below.

Hopefully the entrance construction will be done before the first week of June .

Can you publish the sku for the rainbow ringer tee? I want to get it for my husband for Father’s Day, but we won’t be at Disney before then. It’s so cute!
DFB Sarah says
Annie, we didn’t get the SKU for that tee, and so far I don’t see it on ShopDisney. But tee shirts do pop up on there often, so keep checking! I searched “ringer tee” and found lots of options.
