Our Villain-loving selves are screaming because we don’t have to wait too much longer to see our favorite Disney Villains in action in Magic Kingdom, thanks to the new Disney Villains After Hours extra-ticket event held on select wicked nights this summer.
Disney has just revealed more details about the previously announced event which will include, among other special offerings, the debut of a new show: “Villains Unite the Night!”
But first… a dark spell will set the scene in Magic Kingdom as a party DJ opens up the night and livens up the Kingdom from the castle stage by transforming the Central Plaza of the park into a “killer club scene” with energizing music.
Soon, the Lord of the Dead, Hades himself will be introduced. He, the “Caretaker” for the evening will arrive in a burst of blue flames to kick off the new “Villains Unite The Night” show! As the evil story goes… Meg will be at his side as Hades sits on his dark throne “awaiting the alignment of five planets, following a prophecy that states when the five come together he will be able to rule the universe.”
As happens often with Disney Villains, things don’t exactly go according to plan when a few other Villians interrupt the party. Dr. Facilier, The Queen, Jafar, and Maleficent have also heard the prophecy and they, too, believe they should rule. And how will they argue their cases? By showing their powers with “spine-tingling displays of skill!”
The show is going to last more than 20 minutes, and will run three times a night, allowing all After Hours guests to have the opportunity to experience it for themselves.
And the exciting events don’t stop there, as Maleficent Dragon is going to be freed from the “Festival of Fantasy” Parade for the evening’s festivities! Look for her to be creeping through the park and breathing her signature fire with her minions by her side.
Disney also shared that the Villians are going to take over Space Mountain by “taking you on a villainous adventure you won’t forget” with a special music underscore on the attraction and the spookiest of villains taunting guests as they zoom by. And you might even spot a crew of treasure-hungry scallywags over at Pirates of the Caribbean…
The Disney After Hours Event will also include themed food and beverage selections and special event merchandise. And it will also feature the hallmark of all Disney After Hours events: short wait times for popular attractions due to limited event capacity.
Note that this event does not include Villain character greetings.
Mark your calendars, because tickets for the Disney Villians After Hours go on sale April 29th and can be purchased online. The event will be offered on select nights this summer from June 6 – August 8. Tickets are $139 plus tax if purchased in advance. If purchased day of, tickets will be $144. Disney Vacation Club Members and Annual Passholders will receive a $30 discount, bringing to total to $109.
