Disney’s Hollywood Studios isn’t the only Disney park making way for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway…

… because it’s just been announced that Disneyland park will be welcoming the brand new attraction in 2022!
Mickey’s Toontown will be home to the adventure that is Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway! It will be the first Mickey-themed ride-through attraction in Disneyland park. As Disney shares, it will put guests “inside the wacky and unpredictable world of a Mickey Mouse cartoon short where anything can happen!”

“Once you step into the cartoon world of Mickey and Minnie, you’ll board a train with Goofy as the engineer. Then, one magical moment after the next leads you to a zany, out-of-control adventure filled with surprising twists and turns.”
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will present an original story and new theme song in a setting utilizing state-of-the-art technology and visual effects to deliver “an incredible and immersive multi-dimensional experience” to guests entering the cartoon world!

Within the announcement, Disney also revealed a new opening season for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Originally announced for this fall, the attraction is now slated for a Spring 2020 opening on the east coast.

I wonder where they will put it in Disneyland Toon Town. That area is currently very packed, so I guess they will remove something. Hopefully they will leave Gadget’s go-Coaster and Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon Spin!
Why is Disneyland getting everything earlier than Disney World and taking away from Disney World. First they are given the Electrical Parade with no replacement in the works. Then they open Star Wars Galaxy in Disneyland months before Disney World. Now they are getting Mickey and Minnie’s Runway Railway before Disney World. Who decides this? Why is Disney World being treated like a second class citizen?
Mari, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open in Disney World in about a year — spring 2020. Disneyland’s version will open in 2022. Hope this helps somewhat!

I think you have been misinformed. Runaway Railway is coming to Disneyland 2 yrs after Hollywood Studios. Also, Land had electric parade before world. When World got it, Land was without it for many many many years. We got it back for just a few months and then it was gone again. Also. Resistance opened in World before Land is getting it.
Disneyland is THE Original and should on occasion get afforded some of the Firsts that World seems to get. Land is so much smaller and we are so limited as what we can get. There is no room for expansion. This is not the case at World. Please that into consideration when we get something new first. Thank you.
