We’re always looking for new ways to enjoy Disney Parks treats, and when we come up with a new food hack — a combination of awesome treats — we just have to share. These five Disney Parks food hacks make dining on Disney sweet treats twice as fun!
1.The Churro Sundae
Churros are a total must on any Disney trip (especially in Disneyland, where they’re served up warm and fresh!), and combining them with an ice cream sundae is kind of a genius idea. Truth be told, we’ve been hacking this treat in the parks since BEFORE it made it onto official menus at Taste Track in Walt Disney World’s Epcot (see the Giant Churro Sundae here!) or The Golden Horseshoe for Halloween Time in Disneyland (take a look here!). And you should totally make your own even if it’s NOT on an official menu when you’re there.
Hacking your own churro sundae is as easy as picking up a churro (we recommend one close to your nearest ice cream shop), then popping in for a sundae of your choice. Break up the churros or leave them whole. Either way, it’s a delicious combination of cold ice cream, warm churro, and sweet sauce.
Just remember that timing is everything for this hack: you’ll want to get that churro first, otherwise you’ll be hacking a churro with a milkshake (unshaken, at that). Although, come to think of it, dunking a churro in a milkshake sounds pretty divine, too!
2. The Tajin Dole Whip
The Disney Parks have a ton new fun Dole Whip options, like the new Rapunzel-inspired Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom, but this simple hack takes your average Dole Whip over the top. All this hack takes is Dole Whip and Tajin® Powder! In Disneyland Park, head over to Tropical Imports to grab your Tajin® Powder (or ask for some at Tiki Juice Bar when you order your Dole Whip!). Sprinkle the Tajin® on top of the Dole Whip — and you’re done!
Tajin® Powder is seasoning made with ground chili peppers, salt, and dehydrated lime juice, and combined with the sweet and tart Dole Whip, it’s a terrific flavor contrast for those who like a little savory with their sweet! Check out more on the Tajin Dole Whip Hack here!!
3. Chicken and Waffles at Grand Floridian Cafe
Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Cafe is an awesome place to get breakfast, brunch, or lunch, and they’ve also got a food hack that melds sweet and savory. (Check out the full idea here!) First, you’ll start by ordering the Buttermilk Fried Chicken — but you’ll need to speak up because you don’t want the sides that usually come with this delicious chicken (except for the sriracha-honey drizzle!).
Order a Belgian waffle instead of the typical Crispy Potatoes, Kale and Bacon. When it arrives, you’ve got chicken and waffles!
And remember you CAN request a Mickey Waffle too!
4.The Mickey Ear Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich
You probably already love the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich you can order at Magic Kingdom’s Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, but this hack is even better! Pick up two large Mickey Chocolate Chip Cookies at Main Street Confectionary. Then, head to the Main Street Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and order two scoops of your favorite ice cream in a bowl. Optional: Order a side of warm peanut butter, chocolate, or caramel.
Speed is the key to this hack. You need to transfer the ice cream to a cookie base before it melts (easier said than done in central Florida), the top it with the second cookie. Drizzle sauce if you’d like, and then carefully eat. (Don’t forget the napkins — and the FRIENDS TO SHARE — for this one!!) 5. Chocolate Dipped Mickey Pretzels
Another super easy Disney food hack is Chocolate Dipped Mickey Pretzels. Purchase a Mickey pretzel from a pretzel cart. Select one that also sells churros, because that’s where you’ll get the chocolate dipping sauce.
When you purchase the pretzel, be sure to grab your included plastic cheese, and request a tub of chocolate sauce as well. (If you need to go to two separate carts, no problem! This hack is adaptable!) You will likely have to pay a little extra to add on the chocolate dipping sauce, but it is so worth it! Now you have a sweet and salty delight.
