Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the “Hollywood that never was — and always will be.”

And we are HERE to celebrate the park’s 30 YEARS of glitz, glamour, and MAGIC! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, DISNEY’S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS!

From specialty snacks and merchandise to new entertainment and more, we’ve enjoyed taking it ALL in, and we hope you’ll join us in the celebration!

We’re starting the day right here on Hollywood Boulevard to kick off the celebration beginning with a special cavalcade starring Mickey Mouse himself (did you miss it? No worries, you can check it out here!) and some of our favorite Disney pals!

Mickey’s Cavalcade

Mickey’s Cavalcade featured friends from Disney’s Hollywood Studios both classic and new!

Classic friends at the park included Beauty and the Beast and Ariel with Prince Eric.

The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular was lead by a driver who is an original Cast Member from the opening day of the show!

And the Citizens of Batuu coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge appeared for the FIRST TIME in the park during the Cavalcade!

HELLO from Buzz Lightyear!

All in all, the party is off to a great start… but there’s LOTS more to come!

New Park Logo Revealed

The morning also brought about the reveal of the NEW LOGO for Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Wonderful World of Animation DEBUT!

In a very fitting end to the day, a brand new show will make its official debut tonight: Wonderful World of Animation!

This new nighttime projection show will transform the Chinese Theatre into a celebration of animation!

Moments from Disney and Pixar films such as Sleeping Beauty, The Incredibles, Coco, Ralph Breaks the Internet and more will remind us of the magic of Disney animation. (We were able to attend a Media Preview for this show last night, and you can check it out here!)

Hooray for Hollywood!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios opened on May 1, 1989 as Disney-MGM Studios. The words of Michael Eisner’s opening day speech can still be read on a dedication plaque in the park: “The World you have entered was created by the Walt Disney Company and is dedicated to Hollywood — not a place on the map, but a state of mind that exists wherever people dream and wonder and imagine, a place where illusion and reality are fused by technological magic. We welcome you to a Hollywood that never was — and always will be.”
