! We’re at Disney’s Animal Kingdom today to show you What’s New in the park! Come along!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Discovery Island

On Discovery Island, Isle of Java now has the Simba Cupcake. Previously it was only available at Pizzafari, but we’re expecting to see LOTS of Lion King treats over the next few weeks as Disney gears up for the live-action movie’s release in July.

Guests can also find the Mike Wazowski (with ONE EYE!) Sipper in Discovery Island and elsewhere in the park. Click here to find out where we spotted him.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Pandora

Just one menu change in Pandora: Satu’li Canteen has added Orlando I-4 IPA Draft to the menu.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Africa

In Africa, Harambe Market is still serving the Most Beautiful Cake to go along with….

…the “You are most beautiful” wall. Cast members are encouraging guests to take selfies with this wall, which is adjacent to a backstage entrance.

We noticed these batik-patterned curtains on this visit. They’re blocking that backstage entrance. We’re not sure how long they’ve been in place, but they’re new-to-us!

Meanwhile in the cutest cupcake ever news: the It’s a Girl! Cupcake is a gender reveal cupcake (not much surprise factor here, but it’s still an adorable concept) for Animal Kingdom’s newborn gorilla!

We found the cupcake at Tamu Tamu.

Kusafiri is now serving Irish Coffee. It features Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey and Joffrey’s Coffee.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Asia

In Asia, the old smoking area now has a sign letting guests know it’s now smoke free and directing them to the new smoking area “outside the Park entrance.” See our post about the new designated smoking areas here.

We also noted that Mr. Kamal’s Seasoned Fries — which used to come topped with tzatziki sauce — are still being sold in their Tasting Sampler form. The Tasting Sampler promo ended April 22, but evidently Mr. Kamal liked his new set-up.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom DinoLand

We just reviewed the Flamingo Cupcake recently (see that review here!), but it’s now also available at Restaurantosaurus!

And at Trilo-Bites, guests will now find soft-serve ice cream (in vanilla, chocolate, or twist) and ice cream floats!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Merchandise

We found a TON of Lion King merchandise at Discovery Trading Company. Check it out!

There are Simba, Nala, and Pumba plush.

Plus you’ll find Simba Figures, too!

If you’re in the market for some Lion King apparel, look no further! First: a tank top hoodie with ears!

And is anyone else getting 80s flashbacks with this tank top fringe?!

This tan Simba shirt is a little more understated (no hood or fringe). 😉

We’ve seen this Zazu tee at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but it’s so fun we’re sharing it again. Anyone else humming “I’ve got a love-e-ly bunch of coconuts, deedleedee”? Just me?

And of course, when you’re at Animal Kingdom, you’ve gotta have a little Hakuna Matata in your step.

In addition to the Lion King merch, we found this cute Papa Bear tee featuring Baloo.

And neon is back on this Walt Disney World tee.

We spotted this “Life’s Not Boring When You’re Exploring” tee at several locations, including a cart across from the Otter Grotto. It’s a youth tee.

In hat news, you can now wear everyone’s favorite Genie on your head…

And show your love for Sully with this Monsters, Inc. KITTY! hat.

Both hats can be found at the hat cart across from Tiffins.

And in penguin side-eye news, you can find Steve — star of Disneynature’s Penguins — in plush at Island Mercantile.

There’s also this totally squishable penguin chick, too.
