Guests preparing to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel for their vacation have, for five years now, had the option to choose from a variety of colors when selecting their complimentary MagicBands to wear during their trip. Disney World Annual Passholders have likewise had the option to select a new MagicBand as they purchase or renew their pass for the year.
Disney has just announced that more options for customizing MagicBands prior to arrival at Walt Disney World will soon be available for guests to choose from as they prepare for their trip via the My Disney Experience website.
Disney Resort hotel guests and new and renewing Annual Passholders will be presented with the option to upgrade from the typical complimentary solid-color MagicBand to one of more than 30 new MagicBand options. The pre-arrival purchase price will be $14.99 off the retail price you would find in the parks.
Prices will vary within the designs, but guests should also know that the complimentary MagicBands of solid colors will still be available for guests who do not upgrade to one of the new design options. Guests who DO choose to upgrade will want to know that the new designs can still be shipped to guests’ homes in the U.S. if ordered 11 or more days ahead of arrival.

For those unfamiliar with MagicBands, Disney provides the following: “The MagicBand, which recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, effortlessly links the Walt Disney World Resort vacation choices and plans guests make in the My Disney Experience app – from entering the parks to redeeming FastPass+ selections, using dining plan credits, linking Disney PhotoPass photos and more.”

I understand your thoughts, Joe. But my travel agent said that these discounted Magic Bands are pretty much a now-or-never kind of offer. There’s no guarantee that they will offer $10 bands again in the next few months, so I ordered ours. I feel for the people who didn’t get them. But I’m honestly not sorry we did. This is our first time using a travel agent for Disney, so we’re doing what she says, when she says! The real problem was Disney’s site not working correctly, and their limits on how many bands they had for each style. The tech issues alone should have justified an extension of the offer, IMHO.
