Walt Disney World Resort has announced that the company is investing $1.5 million in the “reimagination and relocation of Valencia College’s culinary arts and hospitality program.”
Valencia College is currently building a new campus in downtown Orlando which will be a shared campus with the University of Central Florida. And the new campus will house The Walt Disney World Center for Culinary Arts and Hospitality. Disney has provided the following video to share more about the partnership with Valencia:
The funds from Disney will assist with the College being able to provide students with state-of-the-art classrooms and technology. Additionally, as the program grows, Disney World chefs will engage with the school and its students.
Disney shares: “When it comes to hospitality and the culinary arts, Disney has been an integral part of these thriving industries in Central Florida for decades. More than 16,000 cast members are employed in our award-winning food and beverage program. Walt Disney World Resort is proud to help shape the future for Central Florida’s aspiring students in these key industries, and we can’t wait to see the amazing achievements they cook up as our community’s future leaders.”
