opens NEXT week! And to get us ready for this all-new experience, Disney has started to release lots of important information. Last week Disney went on menu MANIA by revealing menu options for Oga’s Cantina, the Milk Stand, Ronto Racers, and more! And now: we’ve got pricing on some droids!
The Droid Depot is one of many merch locations in the land and will offer all the parts, chips, manuals and more that guests will use to build their very own astromech droids! And Disney Parks Blog has now spilled the bolts about pricing! To build your own astromech droid, you’ll fork over $99.99 (plus tax)!
A carry box and instructions are included in the price, and Disney notes that “various personality-affiliation chips and other accessories” will be available for an additional charge. The experience of building your own droid is recommended for guests age 3 and older, and the “experience area” will be limited to a droid builder and just one guest — and at least one participant must be age 14 or older.
So just what will those builders be experiencing? First, guests will stop by the Parts Station to select pieces for the customizable droid. BB-Series parts will include a dome, connection plate, body sphere, and motivator. The R-Series will include a dome, body, center leg, and pair of side legs.
At the Build Station, guests will assemble their customized droids using what Disney calls “placemat” instructions to join the parts in the proper sequence. When the parts are together, the droid will be paired with a remote control and activated. Droids will use Bluetooth technology to communicate with one another and with various other elements in Galaxy’s Edge!
And, just like that, you’ve got yourself a droid sidekick!

I’m ecstatic about all of it.! Getting an R unit and all the ups and extras on June 3rd and whatever it costs, it costs.

Is there somewhere that lists the prices for all of the accessories/extras?

That’s awesome! Could you possibly do a video outlining all the different personality chips? Or an overview of droid depot?
