Goofy’s Candy Company in Disney Springs started serving up Gourmet Cotton Candy late last year.
And we can only assume this still-new specialty of the house has been a success, since the gourmet flavors keep on comin’! Something fun about these flavors is that they change with some frequency, and we just stopped by to say “Hi!” to Goofy and try all FIVE new flavors! (And you may be surprised by one or two…)
The new flavors of Gourmet Flavored Cotton Candy include Key Lime, Strawberry Banana, Sour Apple, Root Beer, and Sweet Mesquite (!?!).
Something that hasn’t changed, though, is that each order is still made by hand.
And because the flavors and colors are all-natural, the hues are muted compared to what you’ll typically encounter with a bright pink, blue, or even purple bag of Cotton Candy in the parks. But they still make a fluffy pile of fun!
The Key Lime and the Sour Apple Cotton Candies were the most flavorful of the bunch (and our preference went with the Lime).
The Strawberry Banana Cotton Candy, on the other hand, had very little discernable taste, and kind of tasted like… well, like sweet air.
The Root Beer Cotton Candy, though, is no slouch when it comes to strong flavor, with a truly strong root beer taste. It even carries a strong root beer fragrance.
Speaking of fragrance… the Sweet Mesquite Cotton Candy actually does have a bit of a BBQ vibe, but more in fragrance than in flavor.
It smells a little smoky but tastes more sweet. It seems they’re going for something like a BBQ chip flavor, but it’s not anywhere near that strong.
So, there you have it! While these unique and interesting treats may not scratch that Cotton Candy itch for your kiddo, these are definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a fun take on a classic treat that will for sure make you feel like a kid even if you are no longer one!
Goofy’s Candy Company has proven that it’s up for creating some unique flavors, we’re looking forward to seeing what Goofy comes up with next!
