A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…
… a remote village known as Black Spire Outpost was settled on the planet Batuu along the edge of the galaxy’s Outer Rim.
And WE. ARE. HERE!! Because Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will OPEN in Disneyland on May 31st!
We are here for a special media-only event today and tomorrow, AND we’ll be here on the land’s official Opening Day this Friday. And we hope you’ll join us over the next few days as we take in the sights, sounds, scents, and tastes of Black Spire Outpost!
Are you ready to set foot on Batuu at long last?
Then please join us…
Galaxy’s Edge
Batuu exists on the edge of the galaxy tucked in “between the Unknown Regions and Wild Space.”
And as the largest settlement on Batuu, Black Spire Outpost has a bit of a reputation. Built on the remains of an extinct civilization and named for the petrified spires that were once trees surrounding it, it’s a stopping place in the galaxy for smugglers, scoundrels, traders, and rogues… and, rumor has it, it also happens to be host to members of the Resistance.
The First Order has become aware of the presence of the Resistance in Black Spire Outpost, and First Order Battalion 709 plans to take care of business accordingly.
Tucked within the village are local eateries, including a cantina, and shops for and run by the locals.
The citizens of Batuu (known as Cast Members, back on earth) may greet you with a “Bright Suns!” for a hello, or bid you farewell with “‘Til the Spire!”
That said, you may happen upon someone who isn’t native to Batuu. Perhaps you’ll see Rey over by… well, if she’s near the Resistance base, she’ll never tell.
The Outpost is made to wander and explore — you’ll see no signs leading you here and there.
From the market to the rumored Resistance base to the obvious presence of the First Order, it’s yours to discover it all.
And, as the Force would have it, Black Spire Outpost is serving as home to the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy…
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
