Disneyland Resort
has been the place to be since last Friday, when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge officially opened its weathered gates to visitors for the very first time in Disneyland Park. We were on hand to celebrate — and we’ve brought TONS of info, reviews, and insights over the past few days.
Click here to see our LIVE post, where we kept track of posts, pics, and info for our first few days of exploration on Batuu!
But Galaxy’s Edge isn’t the ONLY new thing to see at Disneyland Resort, so we’re bringing you everything else in this installment of What’s New at Disneyland!
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Eats and Menus
In Downtown Disney, Marceline’s Confectionery is now carrying gluten free Snacks With Character! There are several options, including Lemon Burst Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookies.
The line also has a Cranberry Mix featuring pretzels!
White Water Snacks at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa celebrated Galaxy’s Edge with the Galaxy Donut! Check out that thick blue glaze, the silver star sprinkles, and the metallic rock candy!
Meanwhile, Schmoozie’s in Disney California Adventure Park was busy celebrating Mickey’s Philharmagic, which opened just a couple weeks ago! The Sorcerer Mickey Shake and the Lemon Blueberry Magic Donut are fabulous in blue! Click here for our review!
The Sandianada Smoothie is one of two smoothies recently unveiled at Schmoozie’s. You’ll want to click here to read what’s in this one!
Award Wieners was also on the Mickey’s Philharmagic snack bandwagon! This quick service spot is serving up Mickey Funnel Fries! These start with a base of cinnamon/sugar funnel fries and load on the toppings: blue whipped cream, sugar stars, Oreo Cookie Mickey ears, red berry glaze, and cookies-and-cream sauce.
It’s sweet on sweet — and super messy. Grab napkins. 😉
Cozy Cone Motel has several new eats, including Sally’s Summer Churro! This is a classic churro rolled in graham cracker crumbs and drizzled with strawberry glaze and cheesecake-flavored glaze!
Click here to see if this is a churro worth racing over to the Cozy Cone!
In bread cone news, there’s a hot new option: Red’s Hot Chicken Cone! This is spicy Buffalo chicken with ranch, blue cheese, and sticks of carrot and celery! Click here to see if we thought that Buffalo had enough kick!
Cozy Cone Motel also has three new Crazy Cone Elote options! These are rolled in some epic flavors: cojita, cheese puffs, or spicy cheese puffs. Click here to see all three!
In sweet news, Trolley Treats has the red, white, and blue Mickey Cookie we spotted last week in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Construction
Although Galaxy’s Edge is complete — with the notable exception of the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction, of course! — construction persists in other areas of the resort. The Pixar Pals Parking Structure is coming along, with colorful pavers being laid on walkways and surfaces!
Marvel superhero land is… mostly still piles of dirt. But we’re going to keep watching it come to life (from our perch on the Pixar Pal-A-Round)!
We also took a look at the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind from the Pal-A-Round. It’s progressing well toward its summer opening. Ride vehicle seats are in (though still under wraps).
When we pull further back, we see what we expect will transform into the covering over the queue (colorful objects on the left).
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Signs and Maps
Galaxy’s Edge was on everyone’s mind, of course, and signs at the resort’s entrance displayed three images of the new land.
And the Disneyland Park Guide Map got the Galaxy’s Edge treatment, too!
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Behind the Scenes
There was a lot of media on hand for the opening, and we caught some behind-the-scenes action in various Park locations.
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Merchandise
The Mickey Americana HARVEYS collection with Disney is still available at Disneyland Resort. We found the backpack, clutch, and two (adorable) totes.
Minnie with the bow… just take our money so we can put our empty wallets inside you!
Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff has this totally awesome ball cap: P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney, NSW! Just keep swimming to get yours!
And Galaxy’s Edge-branded merchandise was available outside of Galaxy’s Edge. There are several commemorative pins and a patch available.
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Characters
And finally, we met a couple of new friends! We spotted Mickey’s pal Horace Horsecollar!
And, we like to think, America’s pal, Captain America, looking like he’s ready to protect the country should those Galaxy’s Edge crowds get out of hand. 😉
We think he… makes a point.
And with that we say, “Bright suns!” Wait — no. It’s “See ya real soon” when we bring you another What’s New!

I clicked just to see what that hot mess was called and it’s the funnel fries. I don’t think I could eat that just based on how visually messy it looks.
Tori says
I don’t think the snack mix with the pretzels is gluten free. The two things of cookies clearly have the no gluten symbol on the front but the snack mix doesn’t.

Thanks, Tori!
