From Dole Whips and Mickey Pretzels to Peter Pan Floats, Disney World is home to some iconic and delicious snacks. BUT, not all snacks are created equally (or with equal price tags)!
If you’ve got the Disney Dining Plan for your upcoming trip to Disney World, you’ll absolutely want to get the biggest and best value for your snack credits in order to make your Dining Plan worth it.

Try an Over-the-Top Funnel Cake
Crispy, sugary funnel cakes are found at theme parks around the globe, but Disney World’s funnel cakes can be serious business if you find the right ones. If you’re in the mood for a traditional funnel cake, you can grab one for $6.99 at Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom.
But, if you really want to get the best value for your snack credit, head on over to Oasis Canteen in Hollywood Studios. There, you’ll find a duo of GIGANTIC funnel cakes — one with strawberry toppings and soft-serve vanilla ice cream, and the other with cookies and cream toppings and soft-serve vanilla ice cream.
Both cost a whopping $8.49 if you’re not using your Disney Dining Plan snack credit, and are easily shareable.
Check out our reviews for the strawberry-topped funnel cake and the cookies and cream funnel cake from Oasis Canteen!
Fill Up on a Snack That Doubles as a Meal
If you’re trying to conserve your meal credits during your Disney World vacation, get a snack that doubles as a meal! Animal Kingdom, in particular, has some delicious meal-worthy snacks.
First on our list is the Pulled Pork Cheese Fries from Flame Tree Barbecue. These are super killer and totally worth your snack credit and calorie allotment. French fries are topped with a pile of savory pulled pork before being doused in barbecue sauce, green onions, and of course, PLASTIC CHEESE. These fries are super yummy, super filling and are priced at $6.99.
Also at Animal Kingdom, head over to Eight Spoon Cafe for the Baked Mac and Cheese. They have a standard baked mac, and two topped versions — one with shrimp and one with pulled pork. These dishes are currently priced at $6.69 and $6.49, respectively. The shrimp version gives you a bit more value for your snack credit, but both are EXCELLENT options.
Snag The Most Epic Cinnamon Roll You’ve Ever Seen
Cinnamon rolls can be found all over the Disney World parks and resorts. The option at Gaston’s Tavern in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is pretty impressive, but the Mickey-shaped Colossal Cinnamon Roll is even MORE impressive — and it has the price tag to match.
The Colossal Cinnamon Roll is currently priced at $7.49! It is absolutely shareable and is not too dry despite its large surface area. This would be a great breakfast option for two, three or even four people.
You can find this one in most Starbucks locations in Disney World, but it originated at Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery in Animal Kingdom. If you’re in the mood for a sweet pastry to start your Disney day, the Colossal Cinnamon Roll is a great way to go.

Get a Sugar Rush from Ice Cream Sundaes
I don’t know what’s better than a refreshing ice cream sundae on a hot summer day (or any day, TBH). Disney World has several delicious ice cream sundaes that are great uses of a snack credit.
The most expensive sundaes you can get for a snack credit are found at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom. They are offering a Brownie Sundae and Apple Blossom Sundae for $7.49 each.
You’ll also find the All-American Sundae there for $6.99 as well as some specialty, limited-time sundaes like the current Peanut Butter Dream!
If you’re just in the mood for some good, old-fashioned ice cream, Ample Hills Creamery is the way to go. You’ll find Ample Hills on the Boardwalk and you can try a small cup or cone of their ice cream for $6.99. Our personal favorites are Ooey Gooey Butter Cake and PB Wins the Cup.
Eat Around the Epcot Festivals
Probably the best way to use your Disney Dining Plan snack credit is by visiting the food booths at Epcot’s festivals. There are four festivals spread throughout the year – Festival of the Arts, Flower and Garden Festival, Food and Wine Festival, and Festival of the Holidays. Many of the items found at the food booths are snack credit eligible and can be worth between $7 and $9.
If you’re planning to attend one of Epcot’s festivals, be sure to use your snack credits there. We personally love to make a meal out of several items from the festival booths! Keep an eye on Disney Food Blog for the latest on this year’s upcoming festivals!
See? We told you we had your back! Hold out for these snack items to get a great value for your Disney Dining Plan snack credits.

You do a great job recommending how to best use your dining credits. I plan for and take girl scout troops to Disney. I forward all your recommendations to them. The girls are on a budget; and by using your suggestions, they can stretch their credits and help keep the trip affordable.
Thanks for your hard work and insight.

Julia, thanks so much for your comment!

Karla, there are a good number of dairy-free treats in the parks. You’ll want to look for packaging that indicates the absence of allergens (i.e. Snacks with Character, which have pre-packaged treats like cookies and pretzel mixes). Erin McKenna’s in Disney Springs is an allergy-friendly bakery, so there will be tons of treats there! Also note that Plaza Ice Cream Parlor (and other ice cream shops) offer dairy-free ice cream options, and Dole Whip (all the official Dole Whip flavors) is dairy-free, too! At quick service restaurants and at snack carts and kiosks, cast members will have a binder of ingredients so you can double check them for dairy. And at table service restaurants, you can ask your waiter to bring the chef out to talk to you directly. Enjoy your trip!

We are going to be on the deluxe dining plan – which is already an awful lot of food for us!
We are planning to use our snack credits mainly for drinks/slushies etc. – do you have an article on the best snack credit drinks in the parks?
Thanks
DFB Sarah says
Fraser, I don’t think we have one that focuses on drinks, so I’ll share that idea with the team!

Dole whip is my favorite. Looking at all of the places that sell them (In MK, at the Poly, and AK -TamuTamu) they all are showing “dining plans not accepted” !!!! Do you have any information about this? Disney has really crossed the line now. 😉
DFB Sarah says
Robyn, generally kiosks and snack stands don’t show as accepting DDP snack credits even when they do. These are still DDP eligible!
